*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

my patience runs thinner by the day, its bad enough theres hardly any stock coming through but are asus hiding under a rock, jesus even msi are so say dropping 100ish cards on ocuks doorstep soon.

This feels like a game in Early Access.... let's hope it's not like DayZ....
At-least someone is still working on that game. With the 20gb version coming, I'd say H1Z1 is more appropriate. Imagine helping fund an early access game, only for the developers to abandon it in favour of making PUBG instead :..(

20gb version if it does show up won't be until next year and the price tag will be £1000

So are Nvidia just waiting for AMD to release their GPU or something. I don't get why their is such a hold up for day 1 orders still.

I don't understand that either, the know alls say they want to flood the market on the day AMD release theirs, but surely if they sold them now they are guaranteed the customers and if the customers already have one they wouldn't buy the AMD anyway!

I dont want to wait for 20gb version, I dont need 20gb version, I dont like the pricepoint of 20gb version. I hate the idea of 20gb version. I dont want this version. No sir. Just give me my TUF, TUF standard. Gimme !!!!!

thats not strictly true atm. i believe they bin their chips and we've seen evidence of this. What this means atm is any none OC card that comes in is likely to not run well with OC bios. With nvflash you could potentially flash a non oc card with an oc version of the bios and get the same performance. This will probably only be possible further down the line when theres less demand for OC varients and manufacturers start putting the same chips in both cards.

Normally true but when a few companies are pushing only OC cards I question the binning process it seems more like a money grab issue because they know of the crazy demand for the product.
Palit seem to be one of the only company that is actually binning and producing much less numbers of OC cards compared to non OC

I wonder if the explanation on the OCUK NVidia apologia page is what the conspiracy theory guy so many have posted links to is talking about:

"
When NVIDIA announced their new RTX series on 1st September, they set an MSRP for their Founders Edition cards. During the time leading up to the launches, card manufacturers released the costs for their various models. Combined with a fluctuation in currency rates, our landed cost was higher than expected and we increased our selling prices according to the latest information available.

When RTX 3080 launched, a few card manufacturers supported us to keep a lower selling price on a limited number of orders. These quickly oversold and our pricing increased to reflect the true cost value of these products. We will of course honour the pricing on all the orders sold at the lower value."

So Nvidia helped the AIBs launch their products at a price closer to the RRP of the FE but that those cards were few in number, and now the price has risen to what the AIBs wanted to charge which is a figure higher than the original launch price with the majority of entry level cards sitting around the £720 mark. It's certainly a price hike, but nowhere near the conspiracy pricing he was claiming the shortage of product was designed to achieve.

I get both sides - it's annoying as a consumer, but then why wouldn't they make the money whilst it's there to be made? No one is forcing people to buy the cards.

Standard business practice it seems - I know I'd do the same if I were making the decisions

hmm, I wonder what was in this box before they used it to put my bits in for shipment?

He gave us an update earlier, apparently they are no longer sending 3080s this month only 3090s and 3070s. Very disappointing but appreciate the honesty instead of waiting for a card that will never arrive.

What a joke. Number 5 in the queue for a KFA may as well be 1000 for an ASUS TUF. You would think they would at least bother to tell us its not arriving this month instead of sending me a repeating queue number of 'you are number 5 in the queue'. AGHHH!!!

Just got off the phone to OCUK, couldnt give me any time frame for my expected EAGLE OC 3080 delivery, (being 2nd in que) he did say tho. That people who ordered after launch day. or the week prior... will likely be expecting the cards to be delivered AFTER xmas..... Really am dissapointed in the whole situation regarding the EAGLE OC's especially as they was listed as 23rd Expected Delivery........ Ah well..... being 2nd could be a lot worse i suppose.... Everyday i check forums looking for solace. but its more depressing the more i check!

So.... I will NOT be checking or posting here, further more i conclude that OCUK will now be my last place i order anything from... First and last time...

Take care everyone! really hope things turn out well for everyone! I may or maynot drop an update ONCE i get a delivery email... ! Peace out!!
Nice to hear You finally came to conclusion that took me 3 days not a MONTH. Cards dont exist and thats that.

I'm 1050 in the Asus TUF non OC queue. Intended on using this GPU to build my first gaming PC as a 30th birthday present to myself. At what point do I just call it a day and buy a 2070 Super? I'm thinking leave it till early November to see if there is any significant movement and if not just go for the refund and pick whichever seller has handled this mess best for the 2070s purchase. I need a wise old man to give me sage advice - maybe someone say something profound please.
