*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

haha I made almost an identical post saying the same thing earlier. We're clutching so many straws we'll be insulated for the winter at least

I'm fatter than holy hell, so I don't really need the insulation. What I'd really like: an RTX 3080. Someone should make a forum thread about this, or something. I'd bet there are others who feel the same.

At one point, I thought we would be needing world-class criminal lawyers after someone claimed to have called the police on OCUK because he didn't get his preorder the next day or because the price went up whilst he was checking out; I forget.

Those first couple of days after the disastrous day one launch were hilarious.
There has been some amusing over-reactions. I particularly liked the guy who wanted us all to pay the interest on his credit card. Comedy gold.

Ampere supply woes worsen: NVIDIA is meeting less than 7 percent of GeForce RTX 3080 demand at a major E-tailer

https://www.notebookcheck.net/Amper...3080-demand-at-a-major-E-tailer.498661.0.html

Digital retailer ProShop indicated that AIBs have delivered fewer than 8 percent of the 8925 NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 units it ordered, far too few to meet increasing customer demand. This reinforces speculation that Ampere supply shortages could continue for months to come.

They confirm later a figure of 621, a similar figure to OCUK, except so far as I can tell this is Germany. Article is short but it's worth a read.

Yeah I might try to grab a 3070 too, but how much of an improvement is it over a 1080 ti? apart from the 3 gb less VRAM?

No benchmarks yet, but Nvidia say it's on par with a 2080ti, which is a between 15 - 25% better performance than a 1080ti depending on the game.

It'll have all the RTX bells and whistles at least. Good luck being one of the people to get one at launch from OCUK based on Gibbo's statement that they have a close to dream amount of them for launch.

Might try my luck myself, I know a fella I can probably sell it to close to MRSP once my 3080 finally materialises.

It will be mate cause the numbers from 3080 are spot on from him to cover situation WORLDWIDE. I assume You seen the posts and numbers im talking about ?

Has there been any updates anywhere (not just here) regarding STRIX OC 3080's? It's so frustrating there's seemingly so little of them
+1
anyone heard anything at all any news anything to give me a little bit of hope on the stix OC i am getting sooo frustrated

Does anyone know if when @Gibbo speaks about 'Units' this just means one card, or is a unit more than one card? Just trying to see if I might fall into these MSI shipments or not...

Personally lost the hype to upgrade, Nvidia is so rubbish is beyond even human understanding.... was happy to upgrade from my 1080t however seen the disastrous and embarrassing launch, no cards a month after lunch I can wait for something else or again skip even this generation unless new consoles will bring something that a 1080ti cannot handle.

They have a good marketing but you can tell (well if you did not know notice already) they understand nothing about buyers, unless one is truly desperate and in life the only aim is to buy "a new GPU" they remove the "urgency" not providing enough stock, IMHO

They are embarrassing, last decent thing they did was the 10xx after that they have become a joke... I have a gsync monitor however if AMD can provide stock and performance I will just get an AMD card and buy a new monitor if I have to, not going to waste more time on Nvidia, 20xx was an offence, 30xx is an offence too, besides £700 quid for a xx80 which was the xx80ti price anyway.

1 month with no stock, I am not queuing for more serious thing let alone for a graphic card to play games :D
