*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

I know, It's just us Asus boys have had zero info and as I said considering Asus are close with Overclockers, there must have been some news...surely ?? even bad news is news, It would give me a chance to amend my order with a card
that is more likely to see movement this year.
To be quite honest I hoping no news is good news and we here nothing till the end of the month...... and then they supprise us with a HUGE 500+ shipment of each card

But thats just a dream and 99% chance it aint gonna happen lol

It’s update day!:)
Oh wait....no it’s not:(

Anybody else in the mile high club >1000?

Ordered my TUF 3080 non-OC on Tuesday 20th but haven't had an email giving me a queue position yet.
I'm guessing I'll be about position 1 billion but how long after ordering did everyone get their position email?
I'm being patient as it will turn up at some point (I hope) and I've just started a build and waiting on a Ryzen 5000 so no stress, just interested.

Thx

Ello, I'm pretty sure you will get an email on Friday ?? My Q # took the first week to arrive in the inbox, then it updates every friday IF...there has been any cancellations before you in the Q or any shipped out that week.
I think thats how it works

I'd guess you'll be added to the next update emails, which should either be Friday or when the next batch come in (more likely the former).

So during the wait for the card I've managed to accumulate a fairly decent windfall of wonga, so im going to do a lion li build,
what do you guys think board and chip i should go with, accounting for possible pcie 4 support, but not essental. 3080 vision should be here.... when ever it gets here so yeah thoughts ?

I've recently bought and built a Lian Li DK-05F Desk/Case (holds two systems inside it). My current rig is installed at the moment and I'm awaiting my MSI Trio 3080 hopefully next week. My build is likely to be
  • ASUS ROG Crosshair Dark Hero x570 (to be release soon, hopefully around same time as 5900X
  • Ryzen 5900X
  • Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32gb (4*8Gb) DDR4 3200MHz
  • Sabrent Rocket 1Tb PCI4 NVME
  • MSI Gaming Trio 3080
  • As for cooling, I'm thinking of going hard line water cooling but in the short term might get a Fractal Design Celsuis+ S36 ARGB 360mm AIO

Promo period ends 29th oct and codes must be redeemed by 29th nov so there is still a slim chance

It perhaps illustrates Nvidias thinking which led to this disatrous launch. 1000 codes to OCUK which were expected to last until 29th October, and yet they were gone within the first couple of hours on launch day. This might not be down to physical production issues, but a failure of Nvidias marketing department to accurately predict demand, leading to under production of GPUs.
The did have a difficult job, given the failure of the RTX20xx series and the previous GTX10xx series being affected by miners, but they appear to have based their sales projection on the RTX20xx series leading to this disaster.

This ties in with Jensens statement about it being a demand issue, which shows he runs a production not a marketing led company (cart before the horse), and the talk of ramping up production. Question is though, if you book capacity at a wafer fab, how long does it take before you can turn the taps on and produce 10 times as many chips as you originally intended?

Of course they cancelled the 3080 20gb and 3070 16gb,they wouldnt sell any of these recent cards anymore everyone would jump to the new skus and there would be 1000s of 3080 in stock everywhere with no buyers anymore

Even if demand was a tenth of what it is, there still would not have been enough. It's a supply issue, they have barely any GPU's made.

given date of order your position unfortunately is gonna be around the 1800 mark based on similar posts I have seen. I was 1198 then got an updated position of 1079 due to cancellations. Zero tuf non o.c have shipped that were not ordered on launch day. I ordered the day before yourself at 15:00ish if I remember correct

I'm thinking of making a music album out of this whole charade with the RTX 3000. I've got the first three songs so far:

It's a hard TUF life
Thank you Mario but our GPU is in another shipment
Don't go breaking my bank

I have the Kelvin s36 in my system and cooling it is fantastic after I swapped the fans out for some be quiet ones. However pump is a little on the loud side. Not sure if fractal have made the pump quieter on the newer models but thought I'd give you a heads up on pump noise. I had aio on last four systems but on the fence if I should go back to my old dark rock pro tower cooler.
