*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

I @ 600ish for a MSI gaming Trio and I have promised my current gfx card to my mates son for his first PC as an Xmas present

I fear I’m going to have to go without my PC over the Xmas break

Overclockers are still taking preorders because the more pre-paid preorders they get, the more negotiating power they have with manufacturers in order to actually secure stock vs everyone else (whichever retailer shouts the loudest will get the largest shipments)
loooool. Gave me a chuckle this morning

@Gibbo
Any news on TUF 3080 OC??
I will be patient and do appreciate the news you have. It would be nice to hear something... Anything regarding Asus tuf, been really quiet considering they are close with you. Try to order an Asus card, your redirected to OC.
Cheers.

So during the wait for the card I've managed to accumulate a fairly decent windfall of wonga, so im going to do a lion li build,
what do you guys think board and chip i should go with, accounting for possible pcie 4 support, but not essental. 3080 vision should be here.... when ever it gets here so yeah thoughts ?

I'm also after a further update on my TUF 3080 OC. Could do with an interim queue refresh to capture the cancellations. It seems Asus aren't so forthcoming with the TUF series

I'm angry but I don't know who to be angry at anymore.

Nvidia for launching too early and trying to gazump AMD.

ASUS for not actually making and shipping their MSRP cards.

OcUK for taking our money, getting stuck in this nightmare and then struggling to work out how to manage it (hint, should probably stop taking pre-orders).

Ordered 17th of Sept, an hour and a half after launch. ASUS TUF non-OC. Hoping AMD launch a decent product so I can say goodbye to NVIDIA and ASUS for at least 4 years, maybe a decade.

Who exactly is your source for ASUS not shipping certain SKU? Or are you just assuming this based on OCUK not receiving any and nothing else?

I Imagine Asus are a victim of their own sucess with this card. People like me are cheapskating on not going for the Strix because it is highly regarded. If they can throttle supply mugs/ I mean consumers will opt for the more expensive but not better strix.

Okay now I understand.

So it took over a month to receive a shipment of 20pcs, does this mean I have to wait yet again over a month to get another 20pcs? Or the next shipment after this is expected to be quicker? What’s the deal?

If I don’t get my card by EARLY November I am going to simply refund because this is ridicolous and quite scummy from overclockers part

May as well go ahead and cancel now then, because allowing for shipping times it will be early November before all of the X3 and X4 cards get to OCUK so I wouldn't expect another batch of X2 in the same time-frame.

I'd guess you are going to get your card in November though, but 'early' would be a bit too hopeful I think.

Given your queue position I wouldn't roll the dice on being able to pick up a card elsewhere any faster, but that's your choice of course...

I'm at the acceptance stage of my order

I sold my zotac amp extreme 1080ti to fund the upgrade

Used a temp gtx 660 for a few weeks
Now a buddy has lent me his 980ti so I can atleast play stuff cuz the 660 is literally a potato for modern games

I'm 460 in the queue for Asus TUF OC 3080 so I have no real hopes of seeing it anytime soon

A buddy of mine is 7th in the queue for the zotac holo 3080 and they apparently release at the end of the month with any luck he gets his card in the first batch because he has promised that he will lend me his 1080ti to see me through

What happens if AMD smash it out the park this time round for 500-550 and nvidia drop there prices? Do we get a partial refund if our order is still outstanding? I highly doubt this will happen but just out of interest?

Eveey day we wait were one step closer to missing out on a free copy of watchdogs I hope they either extend the offer or change the game for valhalla or farcry 6 because I'm planning on getting all 3 them anyway so I'm not arsed which one I get but I will be miffed if they don't give nothing especially as I paid my money during the promotional period

Another UK supplier is offering those in the day-one queues the first choice on incoming stock.

Overclocker's can't do this because they are the only UK company to have pre-order still open. So you are totally correct on that they should stop taking pre-orders.

Unfortunately I had a early order with this other competitor on day one. At 5pm on the 17th September they let me know they they didn't have stock and offered me a cancellation. Foolishly I took the cancellation, and did a non-OC TUF pre-order (at 5.20pm, now 320ish in the queue) with Overclockers as they said they had stock coming in on the 21st.

Oh, and this superior competitor also confirmed the refund on the 17th. Compared this to Overclockers that didn't confirm the order to the 21st, and then sent an ambiguous message on stock on the 18th.

Why are people repeatedly asking for updates on specific GPUs? I think it's clearly obvious by now that they're receiving very little in the way of correspondence from board partners.

Just sit back and hope that today's the day Gibbo can provide some information about your respective GPU. I'm sure as soon as he knows he'll update his information thread.

It's business as usual. All the updates on specific SKUs are in the sticky thread, if there's no update for your specific card then there's no new information on them and you'll have to wait.

Sorry to disappoint but no one is getting watch dogs here, since the promotion finished ages ago

I know, It's just us Asus boys have had zero info and as I said considering Asus are close with Overclockers, there must have been some news...surely ?? even bad news is news, It would give me a chance to amend my order with a card
that is more likely to see movement this year.
