All very true. The industry I'm in we're seeing stock shortages across the board and with Brexit in the new year things will only get worse. I know graphics cards don't come from the EU but I'd be surprised if there's not knock on effects with huge congestion at all points of entry for all worldwide shipments next year.

I think us customers, OC'ers and indeed the industry at a whole need to be realistic and honest about the whole situation. Fingers crossed OC'ers don't cancel my order for me because I'm sure as heck not cancelling. I want a 3080 for a decent price and prices and lead times are only going to keep going up.

I'm 720 in the queue for an Eagle OC. Personally I'm preparing for the worst and that means thinking that I'll probably not get my card until well into next year.

@720 i would be concerned the order would be cancelled by overchargers way before delivery.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out in 2 weeks time. Being 970th in a queue I have zero chance of getting my card before the release. I am working hard to secure a card from a alternative source. Hope it will work.

That's not really true. If someone like EVGA gets good press with gamers from how they are treating consumers compared to other businesses, then that means people are more likely to think of them first going forwards. Basically it's a form of marketing so that even if like here we can't order from EVGA, people will think better of the company and are more likely to buy their product through retailers like OCUK. For instance I would rather buy from EVGA than MSI given the positive press for EVGA and negative for MSI recently (scalping their own products etc).

Basically it's a very short term view to say as a company that you don't care who gets it as long as it's sold. Companies spend millions on advertising for a reason and being shown to be better for your consumers than your competitors (even if it costs a bit of money now), can have a much longer payoff. Problem is that some of the bigger companies will see this as niche news that doesn't affect the brand over all so improvements need to be led by the smaller more specialised retailers to show how it can be done better.

He was talking about "the retail industry". He wrote that clearly and explained his opinion very well. You dismissed his opinion and started talking about manufacturers/AIBs like EVGA. These are 2 different things. The retail tech industry is on the whole, anti-consumer, OC are an extreme example of that. Some retailers are worse than others but none are good. AIBs (like EVGA) at least try to get decent PR on the whole, but on an individual customer by customer level aren't good either. They will however try to avoid mass bad publicity like OC will be getting after this. OC on the other hand, like he said, won't give a rat's ass and are only concerned with bottom line.

Kept an eye out on Discord - Part Stock Alerts, and Nvidia Channel under Ampere Launch intl-3080-stock-discussion, also used Telegram.

Multiple Alerts per day for various cards, you can ignore most of the europe ones as they tend to be mostly high priced if they even deliver to UK at moment.

You also need to be pretty quick especially if looking for an FE.

3070's and 3090's are available all over the place cheaper than here.

Bunch of 3080, Zotac Trinitys for 670-676 yesterday and Gigabyte Gaming OC for 727 yesterday.

I got a temporary card from a competitor in Europe. It was probably €100 above RRP but so be it. I used MAILBOXDE.COM to ship it to the UK.

62nd in the queue here for a 3080 Gigabyte Aorus Xtreme.
