I know they are transparent with their fees and all but it's still daylight robbery imo.

The standard fees are extortionate. However, they frequently have FVF offers (typically every couple of weeks). This last weekend there was a max £3 fee offer which is really good for high value items.

Yep, seems like the recent change has actually made things worse, they kept saying that sellers would be better off but I don't think that's the case.

In most cases the seller is better off, but the difference is minimal. However, with an offer like the above, the added benefit of no PayPal fees is huge. The only downside is that it can a couple more days to get your money.
