Last word: It’s not a better-binned chip. Chips are binned before the AIBs get them. The cards are the same. The OC has a factory overclock. That’s it. Nothing else. I’m done here. If you all want to believe it’s something more then that is up to you. ;)

Well i got the Zotac. At the time a lot of people here suggested they were a good brand to buy. However whenever i mention (Not on here) what i have poeple say sell it, its crap, there are much better cards out there, go figure
 
^ I think the Zotac brand is decent, certainly not crap, in fact all the brands are good just some offer a bit more in the way of overclocking, cooling etc....at the end of the day you have a 3090....most don't so who's the real winner.
 
As someone that watercools gpus, I wish there was a no-heatsink, 2 slot option.

Having a mahoosive heatsink on a card then taking it off an being left with a slim PCB and a 4 slot wide bracket is downright :(

Yes but I draw the line at cutting £1500 GPUs!

I cut a bit of the PCI bracket in my current case so I could fit my 2080Ti in the slots I wanted, but I wouldn’t cut a card as resale value would be toast.

In all seriousness you should be able to buy optional slots in different sizes, a good few would buy them.
 
@EVH why do you need to cut? Strix is 2.9 slot wide and use two slot bracket and from the picture of gigabyte extreme it's still showing it's using two slot bracket while body itself are 4 slot wide?

myself just wish they do sell Strix without cooling to allow us choose our preference for the water block as am sure some would prefer alpha cool while others going for EKWB or other brand.
