NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, the flagship reinvented

Imagine it cranked out 100fps minimum at 4K on MSFS 2020. Which makes me wonder where graphic cards will be when 4K 120fps minimum fps and raytraying will be a thing in what year... Or even that fps on Ultrawide.

Well, if AMD can match that leap in perf jump then win-win for consumer. Here's hoping you are right, but with today's prices and that perf jump you'll be north of £3k+ easily. And really you don't need more than a 3080/6800 to play resolutions lower than 4k, so unless you are 4k 120hz+ then you wouldn't bother with this card other than for epeen. If 2x 3090 perf then probably looking experimenting at 8k in some games.
 
3090 was a tad too early to try and claim 8k gaming is here, 4090 will be where 8k 60fps becomes achievable without having to lower settings or only playing extremely well optimized games like doom eternal or forza

bit I don't care for 8k. I'm sticking to my 4k 120hz OLED screens, 3090 was also too early to do 4k 120fps but the 4090 should be much more capable

I was hoping to upgrade both GPU and monitor in 2022, essentially moving to 4K 120FPS gaming, but I just don't think I can justify spending that much money. It's starting to feel like the beginning of the end for me and this hobby.

4090 will be more like 8k 30

I am playing at 4K and while my 3080!Ti does smash everything I throw at it either 80 plus fps and around 60 with ray tracing, 100 plus fps without dlss would be nice. I am glad I got a 1000W PSU as it seems to be a minimum requirement for the 4090.

Yeah I got a 3080 and most games it does fine at 4k. New, poorly optimized games not so much but I get new games at half price - for the best 'fixed' experience. But as so many people don't even know how to set up the game options and using graphical presets, I guess these ultra cards appeal to them as they cant fettle the settings properly. People who go into a game and use the ultra preset and complain the card is crap, don't understand that some settings are there to enhance low resolutions - so you turn those off. Preset users are console gamers come to PC.

My daily games - insurgency sandstorm,Hell let loose, Squad all do 120fps @ 4k. With blur, post processing 'vaseline' settings off, film grain etc etc. and AA doesn't need to be at max - obviously. Gotta love 4k 120hz gaming. ANd DLSS/FSR, well that is a technology that benefits the higher resolutions. Top end card just allow a better experience whilst playing the new AAA games as beta testers. Pay top price for MSRP game and the top end gfx card to play it as beta tester.

Me, get 3080, wait for game to be half price when it's usually fixed, not just performance wise but bugs such as poor AI etc etc. 3080 and 6800XT do fine at 4k and the 6900XT/3090 and 3080ti ~15% better. :cool:...at twice the price:cry:

Absolutely ridiculous how much of a power hog these newer GPU's are.
