These are incredible value, they offer GTX 570 performance but are nearly £100 less. This is a great opportunity for current GTX 480 owners to grab an additional card to go SLI. :D :D :D

Oh I sooooo want one! Though I doubt it would fit in my Antec 1200 since I bought a 3rd party cooler for my GPU to keep it cool. These 480's are known for running rather warm but at that price who can argue! Epic value for money in my book!

Cracking deal. Although must say, despite owning a 480, I'm looking to upgrade. Don't get me wrong, it still demolishes all games... but the noise....

EVGA as well, means you can watercool them without losing the warranty, which considering the reference coolers is a good idea! ;)

Yes 570GTX is much quieter. :)

but with aloss of vram for bf3 players at a decent res this is important

Unless running 2 then there pretty good on the stock cooler

However maybe you could get some eol waterblocks from somewhere ;)

i was thinking of replacing the 6970 + waterblock in my upcoming build with two of these watercooled but i dont think its worth it considering i play at 1080p - sorry ocuk - i was very tempted - but ive got my sensible hat on today :(

if these were offered as a bundle with waterblocks at a good price - i might be tempted to remove my sensible hat and order a couple ;)

Gibbo how about a special bundle price with a gelid icy vision?? PLEASE?

:)

Looking at 3rd party cooler prices, they are about £60. Add that to £185, the total will be near GTX570 price. Also factor the runing costs as I read the 480 draws more power than the 570.

Is the saving and effort of changing the cooler and voiding warranty worth it?

As mentioned above watercooling or any other aftermarket cooler being installed doesn't void the warranty with EVGA.

However bar that you make a good point, a better buy would be a GTX570 with a factory fitted custom cooler. If you are going to water cool though the GTX480 would be a better buy IMHO. You also get more VRam unless you go for a custom 570, which helps with certain titles like BF3.

And also good for those who already own one and want to SLI.

Running a GTX480 myself and it's a very nice card. I got a decent one with a custom cooler so apart from power draw it's all fine and dandy.
