** NVIDIA GTX 970 REFERENCE EXCLUSIVELY AVAILABLE FROM OcUK IN EUROPE!! **

If you think it's fast, overclock it as these cards yield like an extra 20% performance from overclocking. :)

I'd argue the reason kitguru give for people choosing reference design cards - just nvidia lovers, really? Did they really not think it could be because they exhaust out of the back of the box so are a better option for sli on air? Not such a small segment of users then...

Our company group has sold over 1000 now they are proving more popular in Germany than the UK. :)

So tempted by this card. Don't think my corsair tx 620 will cope though.

The guy in the Ireland was powering it with a 330W PSU, due to his Alienware PC having that, could swear that's what he said, watch the videos in full but a 600W PSU should cope.

I was just wondering if these cards are still made my manli?

someone in a review on the product page said their one was a zotac one. Probably not a huge difference, but as everyone reviewed the manli ones so highly i was hoping to get one of those if i decide to go for it over the 780ti

Last batch was Manli, this batch Zotac. Cards are identical just different packaging. PNY, Manli, Zotac and Inno3D are all same factory (PC Partner).

Samsung ram clocks better than Hynix.

Normally Samsung does clock better and has better efficiency. But because NVIDIA are very detailed in what specification the memory must hit the Hynix clocks as good as the Samsung in most cases and the Hynix has and does clock upto around 8800-9000MHz on the best examples so very similar to Samsung.

The cards have Hynix now.

The only card I believe we still have which guarantees Samsung still is the KFA Infin8 card I designed but as of yesterday we dropped under 1000 units of our current batch and as such we will have a new batch arriving in May and right now the factory can only build with Hynix.

I think your figures are off by about 1000 at either end there Gibbo ;) They definitely don't go that high for average Joe. The timings are also a lot faster on the Samsung ram based cards.

What I've achieved in my testing. :)
I think 8 Pack has a King Pin and HOF card which are nearly at 10000MHz, with voltage and some directed airflow such speeds are possible on the best power phase cards with good ram chips.

Sorry for asking, but is the Witcher 3 code still active with these? It doesn't seem to be on any of the item descriptions now but Nvidia are still advertising it and have OcUK down as one of their partners, so I'm a bit confused.

OcUK will not be offering it if its not on our descriptions, you only get it if it is advertised as such on OcUK.

I shall check and request more games from NVIDIA, but if you order when no game is showing, then you won't get a game.

Oh No , just bought the bundle yesterday after 2 weeks of trying to decide between the 970 or the 780ti , didn't notice that Witcher 3 was missing from the promotion at the time, any chance of a code Gibbo ?

check your account history after you recieve the card.

Thanks very much Gibbo , you are a star. Spent so long thinking about it then when I saw it was on this week only I just jumped on it without checking all the details again.

If a code does not appear email our CS or post on here linking to my reply here and they shall sort you a code. :)

Makes sense :)
Any ideas whether there would be price drops at all - is that dictated by Nvidia?
I see there is currently £10 off but not sure whether its worth my while to hold off for a bit then buy later on or make most of it now.

I can't see any future price moves to be honest now, I think we are now pretty much set for rest of year as sales naturally start to pickup August due to entering peak season.

What we might see is new game bundles of course, but nothing is confirmed as of yet.

I just got one of these. What can I expect out of it for overclocking? Sitting at 1060 with a 1203 boost on default. What's the average experience for you guys? Cheers.

Boost expect 1400-1550MHz and 7600-8200MHz memory. :)

Is it safe to run the fans at 100% 24/7 on these cards? I ask because on auto it idles at 52c and under load it gets to the mid 70's c. With fans at 100% it idles at 37c and gets to about 60c under load which is better. I just don't want to kill my fans if it's not recommended.

Secondly, I'm getting a windowed side panel tomorrow with a fan port and wondering if I should set it to draw air in (it's parallel to the card) or to exhaust out?

Cheers.

100% is fine, the card is designed to operate as quietly as possible upto 70-80c and then it will slightly increase fan speed to keep the card under 80c, this is how NVIDIA designed the cooling. :)

I'd personally set the fan around 60-80% as that should be enough to stay around 60c load whilst remaining very quiet.

I don't know know what the heat threshold on GPU's is so for all I know 70/80c is extremely high. :p

I'm slightly deaf so I can't even hear it at 100%. :o

80c is throttle point, won't be any harm but at the same time running it cooler won't do any harm either and also if you keep temps around 60c the card will boost higher giving more performance. :)
