Does it make that much difference? Im running two in SLI without the sections removed, will it make much of a diff to temps to remove it?
That would be a quilt cover by the looks of it.

Just did a quick google search and it appears that removing the little plate reduces temps by 3-4degC and that then drops fan speed by around 400rpm. Will have to test it out this friday!
If that's the case it makes you wonder why they left it on the first place, will test this out later.
Which is better for overclocking these cards
PrecisionX or MSI Afterburner.

well after a week running 2 x EVGA 980 SC I have to say I'm really impressed with these cards
Running 1 on its own on a Swift was great but having 2 of them is just sweet!
