Nvidia GTX Titan II Flagship with GM200 Core Is Launching Sooner Than Expected – Ready Within 2 Mont

The point is nvidia have effectively created even higher premium categories and it's not a good thing period.

Agreed, but remember this wouldn't of been possible if AMD had taken the crown earlier on. If AMD have a strong showing to begin with Nvidia won't be able to get away with excessive milking this time around. Thing is both AMD and Nvidia might be content with the status Quo.. Remember AMD's cards are also commanding more money these days aswell, look at the dual AMD card pricing, and 290X still holding a very high price point despite being quite old in terms of the typical GPU lifespan.. Both camps are enjoying a whole new higher pricing. The only way to combat this is to vote with your wallet, if enough people didn't buy at these prices they would come down. We are all suckers for new tech though :P They all know it..

Titan was a grand with gouging, VAT, ripoff Britain etc etc. Don't know how long it took for prices to come down but that was what it cost in the real world for a while.

£500 a few years ago vs £1000 today for top cards, inflation doesn't double prices. And besides, there are still 10p crisps.

A few years before that the 6800 Ultra Extreme was a £550+ card over here, same as the X800 XT Platinum Edition.

Prices haven't really changed on high end gaming cards, TITAN is a different kettle of fish, you should know this.

I can see LtNVIDIAMatt selling his 3 290s to buy an GTX 880. If he adds a little cash, then he can truly live up to his name.

This is what i was trying to say just with a few more examples :)

There is but the packets are smaller as are the crisps :)

i want titan II now so i can decide if a titan black is worth it or not :(

If you need to see another card to tell you if Titan Black is worth it or not, trust me it's not worth it. Nothing worse than buyers remorse, if you have the slightest doubt don't buy one. I've been there with the buyers remorse a few times and it's not good lol.

MSI GTX 780 Ti Gaming Twin Frozr can be had for around £450 now, I know it has less vram but apart from that gaming performance wise it beats the Titan Black, so I would save yourself a lot of money and potential buyers remorse and go for of them instead.

Yes, Day 1 picked up Inno3D GTX8800 for £440. Worth every penny. Proper upgrade, non of this milking cr*p. Arguably better steal was 4870x2 at £365 in first few days (best i found by like £20). Dam fine cards.
Amen to that.

What is done thesedays is actually more like "8800GTS 320MB/640MB" being launched first and call them "top-end" cards (and with the 8600GTS being the "mid-range"), while the "8800GTX/8800GTX Ultra" are reserved and launch as next gen flagship
