Nvidia preparing new Geforce with GK110

Tentative about G-Sync - don't really see a huge need for it at 120+Hz especially 144Hz but it could be a big deal for people who want ultra high res panels that don't do above 60Hz.

Mike Coopman: Just get a 120hz screen

NVIDIA GeForce: Even at 120hz you still get stuttering and tearing. G-SYNC allows the GPU to determine the order of frames delivered to the screen instead of stacking them into your display out of order. This is seriously game changing technology.

3 month ago I would have felt sorry for AMD but lately with the lack of,well.....anything really and asking to pre order a card with no price or benchies I say good day to you Roy and doff my cap

Exactly AMD have blundered their way through the early events and this weird launch with the never ending NDA. The whole time claiming that AMD is the core of gaming.

Nvidia just came out and owned AMD.

Mike drop.

Where's the fixer now?

Least nvidia know how to do a conference, the whole 290x thing has been a total cluster **** 780ti I'm tempted to cancel my 290x and just go all in

My understanding was when the frames drop, instead of seeing stutter, the refresh rate of the monitor drops, so that eliminates stutter and lag.

I think I need some laymen terms written for this :D

According to Linus, when watching this SBS, it is game changing (just heard him say it) and needs to be seen for how smooth it is.

Over the top Boomstick.

We don't yet know how the R9 290X will perform, it could be as fast as the GTX Titan, or even faster for all we know, AMD now know what they are aiming for.

They already fired their shot and we are waiting for the spotter to confirm effect on target.

How do AMD know what they're aiming for when the 780ti has no information?

If anything it's the other way round.

The biggest core Nvidia have (at current knowledge) is the GK110, which would be about 7% faster than the Current Titan, the 780TI may well be that, which would mean the Titan is discontinued.

The Benchmarks from AMD 4K demo show its faster than a 780, its at least as fast as the Titan, and this was in "quiet mode" with higher performance figures in "performance mode" not published. so at this point its anyone's guess.

Or the 780TI could be an even bigger GPU than the Titan, who knows....

At this point anything could happen.

Custom 780's are already as fast as stock titans, unless the 780ti is just a rehash to cut power usage/save money and not really improve performance which is doubtful then it's going to be very close to those 290x benches.

Obviously all just speculation, but there's a reason nvidia are launching it and it seems pretty obvious to me it's to target the 290x.

Why are you stoking the flames? stop being such a fanboy of companies that sell you GPU's, it's sad.

OT

I'm thinking the 780 will be reduced to round £400 to compete with the 290/290x and the ti will come in at £500-£550.

LOL WTF

That's rich coming from you, one of the biggest fanbots on this forum a while ago.

Judging by how AMD have teased us with info on the 290 (@4K) that's where they shine, and out perform the 780.

Almost useless IMO.:p Looking at the bus and memory its not surprising they win at a massive resolution no one uses yet.;)

1440p & 1600p benchmarks will no doubt be much closer or even reversed. If not why not show some of them too? Fishy IMO. ;)
