I think 'the chase' is becoming more interesting than the thing we're chasing. I'm not looking to get a 3080 because of any immediate games (maybe CP2077), but more to 'finish' my build which I started 18 months ago but couldn't finish because the 2000 series didn't offer the performance I wanted (being 100+ FPS on most/all games at 1440p). Getting the 3080 puts to bed the last planned capital spend for me.

Well I dont really need a 3080 as I have no plans to go to 4k and am pretty happy at 2k res although I am a bit like Maxine when it comes to buying shiny stuff.

Yeah, 60 EUR minimum is a joke and it's 2-3 week shipping. I've found a supplier in the UK for the exact same cable (BLACK/RED/RED/BLACK) with black combs for £15 so will grab one at some point as OCUK don't sell the right combo

Doubt it, when people see the third party pricing vs the better built fe card. From the reviews the core seems to be virtually pegged at it's limit out of the box so less incentive to throw more money at a third party card. This time around the main difference seems to be cooler preference vs anything performance related.

Make sure you download some RAM, I did and it helped boost my time from 3.4 to 2.1 ;)
