** NVIDIA RTX 30 SERIES NOW ONLINE AT OVERCLOCKERS UK (3090 / 3080 / 3070) **

Some went up yday, but sold out almost instantly. Still waiting for the half-decent AIB cards to be restocked. The UK really is being starved of stock.... US must be soaking up all supply.

looking on Facebook and forums the us is barely getting any stock either. Let’s call it what it was - a paper launch

Total shambles.tbh I've been buying quite a bit off ocuk back when spie was at the helm.if ocuk had the cards they would be shipped simple as that.i cancelled my order for a trio and ordered a 34 in lg ultrawide 144hz monitor instead.ill wait to see what and brings to the table and when all the madness ends I'll grab a card.tbh I've a 2080ti with a custom bios that sits under water at 2.2ghz so I'm really in no rush.at the end of the day it's a luxury item.the world's not Gona end because people have spat the dummies out.chil and when the come ocuk will ship them.the blame is all Nvidia fishing to get the cards out before the consoles.any one remember the amd xtpe launch.the paper edition.i flashed a standard xt to a xtpe lol.oh the good old days.amd 2500m was some chip lol

Watched this video from Tech Deals earlier today, they raised a point in the last couple of minutes in the video (10:24 onwards) where they suggested that retailers should take pre-orders for the new NVidia cards, then sort them based upon how long the buyer had been a customer of the seller (in this case they used a US competitor as an example).

They suggested that this is not only a good way of filtering out the bots and scalpers, but also raised a point. 'Competitor' - I assume much like OCUK - would rather have a customer that they have a relationship with over time, who buys memory, processors, accessories rather than just making a one off GPU purchase never to be seen again. Favouring your loyal customers in such a way shows you value them and their previous/future custom and buy sorting the pre-orders based upon the length of time the buyer has been a customer, puts scalpers towards the bottom of the queue where they belong.

Curious as to what other people think? Or is first come, first served fairest but at a risk of sticking two virtual fingers up at your loyal customers and risk losing your loyal customers to a competitor?

That may be also an easy way to lose customers too. Many people buy from a place for the first time (everybody has to do it at some point) and, if they are happy with the service, they reimain loyal custormers. If you push them to the back of the queue, it is going to be very difficult to have new clients over time. Why would I buy from Overclockers if I know, for example, that I am going to be the last one receiving the order? What I think that is right is to manually check all the orders, removing as many bots and scalpers from them. Sometimes they are not obvious, but sometimes they really are.

The card is very big... and the computer very tiny. Both things together well, look a bit strange :) It seems less massive than the air cooler I use for the CPU, though.

honestly what all retailors should do for now is take pre orders down if they wont have stock after delivering the existing orders for sale. just to clear the backlog. then once they KNOW they will have XX amount of cards is stick pre orders back up for that number and once gone take them down again. i know people will moan about this but end of the day they cant even tell people who have pre orders now exactly when some models will be in stock.

That doesn't do anything other than allow those already in the queue to continue to wait their turn just like they are now and force anyone not in the queue into an F5 fight to get a card, how is that useful?

and how is accepting endless pre orders useful when they cant give any clue as to a date for the majority of them ?

either way its a mess. but at least only selling what the know is coming in would save a lot of angry phone calls aimed at the staff of various retailors.

But dont worry all those youtubers got a lot of stock to show the card off, telling you all about it and all its issues whilst preaching that you should be patient.

Good to know they are all sorted~! Guarantee that if AMDs new cards are comparable that all of sudden you will have 3080s in stock everywhere!

and dont forget its not a paper launch either according to them :P

Quite simply it allows people to form an orderly queue with no need to use their twitch gaming skills on the 'in stock' button...

The only thing more frustrating than being in a queue with no certainty of the delivery date is not being able to join the queue in the first place...
