Well that was exactly my intention, I have been happily gaming at 1440p maxed out settings on the 1080ti for 3 1/2 years and with GPU power spare too, but going off recent benches it's already looking like you'll have to turn some graphical features off next year to muster 60fps in 4k even with the 3080, so I'm waiting till Monday now and see the results without RT and without DLSS.
I'w been playing 4k 30-60fps last 2 years for me personally as 286sx crt 12inch monitor ol;d gamer. 30fps is plenty used to dream about 20 in 320x240p :D

Interesting that DLSS actually allows the old cards to catch up.

Leaked benchies are showing the 3080 much closer to the 2080Ti than I had thought.... Maybe some of those folk grabbing £350 2080Ti's were onto a winner!

It's showing an average of 30% better without DLSS on SOTR. That isn't too far off what was expected. 2080 Ti has nearly 50% more CUDA cores than the 2080.

Some simple Maths says 1.3 x 1.5 = 1.95. Which is what the 3080 is supposed to gain over the 2080.

DLSS actually turns that into more like +20% vs the 2080 Ti.

Far Cry New Dawn looks CPU bound until 4K where it becomes +25% over the 2080 Ti (might still be partially CPU bound).

Zomg Cyrix Those ware the good ones before next gen that killed the company right ??

Yes lol I think they made a 200mhz and 200+ version from memory, I actually upgraded from a pentium 133 I think it was to the cyrix because it has faster floating point then upgraded again to the pentium 200 mmx lol, every MHz counted then not so much today.

Cyrix had something big on their hands then it just fell apart lol not to mention I had I think a 6000-7000 rpm squealer fan trying to cool it down, them were the days.
