NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

I tried to get a FE model of the 5090 but no joy like most, but I did see some available AIB models on the other site and I could not bring myself to press the buy button because of the uplift in price and they were gone lol.

But what had me fuming was all these youtubers, why have they all got 5090 FE models even ones that do nothing for Nvidia and they get them for free, makes no sense, I was watching the last digital foundry direct and everyone of them have 5090 FE even john that means 4 units went to one channel alone, what on earth is Nvidia thinking? Us mortals were there pressing the F5 key for what seems like a lifetime, and we have to pay 2K plus for the privilege and get nothing at the end of it.

Sorry, rant over, just ****** me off.

I have to say I’m quite impressed, my Vanguard ordered from a competitor yesterday late afternoon just turned up! Was supposed to be delivered between Monday and Wednesday so really a pleasant “surprise” :)

The card is massive and really gives a good impression when it comes to the materials used and the design/effectiveness of its cooling solution.

You can also clearly see that MSI made a real effort in terms of packaging and style to give an extra touch to this Vanguard “Launch Edition”. Still not sure it’s really worth the extra cost, unless you’re a collector kind of guy, but it’s still nice to see they did try to make it special compared to the rest of the cards out there.

Ok, time to install the beast now, wish me luck that nothing goes wrong!

Awesome - let us know how you get on, many of us here are waiting on the MSIs :)

Yup, I'm down in the 340-350 range now... I don't think I'll be seeing my Solid for a while

Hopefully the ASUS I ordered from OC has me in a better spot / more incoming stock... Whichever comes first I'll probably keep and either MM the spare or just straight return it. (also depends on AIB reviews of the ASUS TUF and the Zotac Solid - if there's a notable difference in perf)

Edit: Also yeah, it kinda hurts having £5k gone on 'pre-orders' that I might not see for months xD
Wow that's nuts lol. I think the queue will shorten given people are probably cancelling. I've thought about cancelling now too but 5 months will most likely go by pretty quick although contemplating if the money could be put in stocks, i.e. buy nvidia stock since it's dump from the deep seek fiasco and hopefully it'll make some nice gains from now and then.. And by the time the 5090 supply is in better numbers, dump the nvidia stock with some gains (hopefully) and jump on to to any website where they have stock of the 5090 and you buy the one that fits your needs.

Cancelled my pre-order from another company as I read the one I had pre-ordered has very noticeable coil whine and it was going into a PC that was going to be used for music recording as well as gaming, also will save the money for an RTX 5090.
I'm already half way there :)

Just seen some of these things are £2,700 holy moly what is going on? That’s a major purchase. I got my 3080fe for £660 and I thought that was bad but was caught up in the draught etc but there would be no chance of remotely getting that kind of bill past the other half.

If you talking about another site not OCUK.

Use order tracking at the bottom of the page. Enter the invoice number and post code will give you the details, on the same page you can see a button for Live tracking which you can see your queue number.
I meant for OCUK but thank you

I have moved up 5 places since joining my queue.
The more people get cards elsewhere the quicker the queues will go - There is one company who are doing a 7PM sale of the cards they get that day rather than releasing in dribs and drabs.

You would think OCUK would have a decent viewable queue system like that with all the millions turnover they get, just makes them look inferior and subpar, in that aspect anyway.

No problem, if you guys have any questions let me know ;)

So I’ve just installed it and it was a nightmare, I almost thought I wasn’t going to be able to.

Basically the height of the card is the issue. Length and thickness was no problem for my setup, I would warn however people to be extremely careful when it comes to the length and take measurements of the space available in your case as it is a very very long card.

The issue with the height for me came down to not be able to access the screws to attach/maintain the card to the case. They were simply unreachable for my fingers or for the screwdrivers I normally use. A big piece of the radiator/cover plate just blocked the way.

By miracle I had an Amazon “made in China” maintenance kit lying around which happened to have a screwdriver with a sort of rubber extension, allowing you to screw/unscrew without being in a vertical position. Even that was hard to use but thankfully it did the job.

I really thought for a moment that I wouldn’t be able to use the card because of 3 screws :o
