NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

That's on the low end of where a 4090 ranks against a 4080, which you'd expect given that Time Spy is a 1440p raster-only benchmark. In heavier games at 4K (and especially with ray tracing enabled) where the 4090 can really stretch its legs, the difference is usually in the 35-40% range (and occasionally even higher).

Granted, not everybody is playing at 4K, but I feel like if you're in the market for a £1000+ GPU then you're much more likely to be.

Fair enough yeah. Timespy extreme the gap is 35% so yeah much bigger.

And in speedway which is the RT benchmark I believe (?) the gap is 42%.

It will be interesting to see where these come out on reviews. I agree it's a 4k card either the 5080 and definitely the 5090. I'm a VR user myself so similar to or greater than 4k level but don't care about RT and frame gen is no use at all in Vr.

Most vendors will be getting stock or have actual stock. The thing is Nvidia controls when they can list and sell. They are just placing it ready for when it goes live and then they don;t have to make a whole new page as the first few days is when they will shift the most new units. All Etailers will be going live at 2pm on Jan 30th. My advice to you is make sure you have multiple web pages open with your details already stored. Everyone will be clamouring to get one. You, bots for scalpers, companies and next doors dog.

Most websites will slow down to a crawl and I do literally mean a crawl. My plan is to have sever etailer pages open. I hope I can secure one from OCUK as they have been fantastic for me in the past and for quite a while so I would like to keep that going. Thing is I need 2 for my pc's so I have to get one from somewhere else. The only place I wouldn't get one is from nvidia official partner. I had a very very bad experience with them when I ordered the 980 or was it 980 ti Kingpin card many years ago. I did not open the case for the card and they refused me returning it as I wanted something else instead. I had to get the manager/owner involved before anything positive happened and that was after quite a few weeks going back and forth with them. Even if I couldn't get a 5090 from anywhere else and only they had it with plenty of stock I will not buy from them as a matter of principal and I like to be that azz.

Founders edition is only available from 2 places. One is Nvidia the other is a competitor of OCUK they are the official partner. So if someone buys a founders and it not from Nvidia they it can only be from one etailer

Thank you. I'll check the other competitor. I'm only interested in the Founders card.

Either that TUF price is very wrong, or the Proshop prices are very wrong. I suspect Proshop is wrong, tbh. These prices are awful. That Palit Gamerock PCB will be reference, so by no means a high end card.
if this is true then there will be a mad rush for the FE cards as these are confirmed at below 2 grand, the high end cards such as Strix Suprim and Amp extreme is what I'm looking at but if the FE edition is 500 quid less then thats a no brainer

Though during the 20 30 and 40 series I got the Amp Extreme model because of the solid 5 year warranty and Zotac having one of the fastest clock rates.

I also noticed Zotac offered 5 years. Not sure if they are still doing that. But i agree, a £500 gap between the FE and high-end cards is bonkers.

Yeah I expect FE cards to sell out instantly and stay out of stock for a while, AIB models will of course sell out initially but I reckon a couple weeks after launch they'll be available everywhere, an extra £500+ is gonna put a lot of people off what is essentially not a huge jump in actual raster performance over the 40 series. Guess time will tell

I did think about it but then my Mum randomly and kindly gave me some money for Xmas I wasn't expecting so with what I'd saved I said I'd get what ever I could under £1k, saw the 5080 was under that (I know I'll end up spending extra for an aib....and a new PSU too) and thought just for once I'd go for a higher tier card, especially seems the PC I built for my Nephew out of parts now scores higher than mine in timesspy and my old man's PC I built him is miles ahead.
I'm hoping this will last me a fair bit longer as going mid tier and amd last time has really not worked out (8GB Vram and no ray tracing was such a **** up).
Good for you man... enjoy it, that's quite the upgrade :)

People are forgetting how it was like back in the 4090 launch, the launch price was £1650 and the AIBs like Strix was going for almost £2400 where the high end ones were £2000. Granted it was during the Truss currency exchange debacle but still, an expected at least £300 increase from FE isn't anything surprising

I think for some people its their passion and they have the spare money or can afford it ( or maybe they can borrow it ). I will wait for a used one in 6 - 18 months on the members market !

Have had good luck with palit on the whole. The last one I had was the quietist card (for coil whine) I ever had. Was a 3090.
My Palit 1080 Ti also had none.

Slightly off topic but my 6800 XT had lots of coil whine with an EVGA 850w PSU that was 6+ years old, which worsened as time went on.

I bought an RM1000X to replace it when the warranty ran out and now I have minimal if not zero coil whine! The source of it was definitely the card too, a pleasant surprise.

Wow, so changing the PSU reduced the coil whine? Stop trying to tempt me to spend money. God damn, this forum :D Mine isn't bad and doesn't bother me, but i'd like to try it with a new PSU now, lol.

It was an unexpected and very pleasant side effect; it hadn't bothered me as I game exclusively with my headset on, but damn is it so much quieter now!

...and then I'll upgrade my card and it will return, no doubt.

My trust Corsair RM850x is a very well rated power supply, so i'd be surprised if it was causing any issues, but you never know. Thanks for raising it. It had never even crossed my mind that PSUs can affect coil whine.
