It depends on your perspective. Since other UK retailers have legitimately sold these cards at £80 to £300 cheaper than OCUK over the last two weeks, are they really a good price?
 
FE arrived safe and sound today :D ah it's good to be back on the PC after not having a GPU for a month :cry:

Apologies if this has been posted already. Looks like the Astral noise complaints are fixed with a BIOS update (to be fair it was obvious this was going to happen).


I admit I’m bias since I’m in the queue for a 5090 Astral but with the modified quiet BIOS (26dB) and individual wire amperage monitoring to help prevent cooking yourself alive would we consider the Astral now better than the MSI offerings?
 
Saw one guy post on reddit yesterday that he'd bought the 5090 gamerock for £2700 from ocuk to tide him over until his 5090 Suprim came from the barcode place! So he's paid over the well over the odds for both cards and will end up selling the Gamerock at a huge loss

Yes i would consider the Astral better than the MSI on the simple fact it has the ability to monitor that ****** connection even if they didn't fix the rear fan .. now that's sorted then yes makes it the best by far imo . What position are you in the queue? I need to call them up now and cancel my 5090 Astral preorder so if you are over 115 then you will move up a place shortly, I will try and find out a eta on expected delivery as another forum member was able to get the info when they cancelled their Msi card .

I’m 175 I think (down from 186 on launch day, slow moving queue).

How come you’re cancelling the order, out of interest?

Also yeah any info you can get from them on ETAs would be well received!

It’s a minor ‘pro’ tbh. The software might flag something, or a light on the GPU might flag something… but if the cable can melt in a single gaming session you had better hope, for example, that Windows game mode isn’t disabling notifications when in game :p

You might smell something is wrong before you notice a tiny light on in an RGB filled case.

I managed to get a FE yesterday so keeping that instead, ah you will move up another place then .. I posted what the lady said above but for 170ish in queue possibly upto 2 months depending on what stock they receive :)
 
How has the Astral noise being fixed in a bios update? If they just lowered the rpm surely it would just make the card hotter at a like for like rpm, unless I'm missing something.
