NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

How has the Astral noise being fixed in a bios update? If they just lowered the rpm surely it would just make the card hotter at a like for like rpm, unless I'm missing something.

Won’t know until I get my hands on one but I’m fairly certain they just alternated the speed to prevent turbulence (I think this was the noise reviewers were hearing, not mechanical noise).

The Stock Checker doesn't work for FE. Any other DC suggestions to sign up for the notification?
seen it posted before so dont think its breaking rules

What's your source for this? I think people overestimate the amount of technically minded people in the UK that will actually use a 5090 for AI as part of their work. Those who are capable of utilizing it (in a professional manner) will be remotely connecting to a datacentre, where there are hundreds and thousands of NVIDIA AI GPU's.
Three things I use a GPU for

1) running AI models
2) video editing
3) game development

Then I might play the odd game on it :) These aren't really graphics cards anymore, they're compute cards.

I use the cards for web / forum browsing :p

..on another note the built in 9800x3d gpu is very decent, did 4k 144hz dolby vision with no effort, was pleasantly surprised

I just had the opportunity to buy the Palit Gamerock 5090 non-OC from a competitor for... £2,999. Looks like an upward bidding war between the UK retailers. :(

Edit: Just for clarity, I did NOT bite at three grand.

So we're starting to get regular drops for 5080s but 5090s are still seemingly thing on the ground with very little movement in queues.

I think the drop in the Palit 5090 queue just now is possibly the first we've seen that can confidently be put down to "cards shipping" rather than "people cancelling". There were around 10 cards sold on OCUK yesterday and another competitor has had a similar number today, but priced at three grand.

dropped down 10 places to 5 for the 5080 I've got preordered about 29 places in the space of 2 days, assuming people are just dropping out now they've got cards elsewhere or more stock keeps coming in.

so fingers crossed I get my 5080 next week at this rate.
