NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

I'm returning my GPU after hearing all the issues with the cables and what not..

Does anyone know if I can return it within the 14 day cooling off period at OC? GPU is completely unopened, still sealed in original plastic wrap.
Their policy mentions possible devaluation of returned items, but surely this wouldn't apply to an unopened product? Also unclear if they cover return shipping costs.

Just scalp it and profit £££

Got my 5090 yesterday. Bit ****** off OCUK didn't require a signature for the package as DPD dumped it on a front step about 4 doors down from my house without taking a picture! Thought it was lost until one of my neighbours spotted it and sent me a text.
Had similar with my 4090, which was left outside in a public area. I was working from home that day and had been spamming F5 on the DPD tracker, so I spotted the moment the status changed to "delivered" and went out to find it.

Thanks, I guess I'll take the £29 hit..

Btw, I bought a 5090, and the RMA they sent me has a 5080 as the order.. which I never bought.. I asked them to amend this.
is there anything wrong with the card or is it just out of caution?

Generally if you're using the cable that comes with the card and an ATX 3.1 power supply with good cables you should be gucci

I just cancelled my 2x 5090 pre-orders and am sticking with the one I have in hand (Gaming Trio). The gaming Trio wasn't my first choice, but I was holding out to see what else moved or if more issues presented themselves. So for anyone in the pre-order queue with OCUK for a Zotac Infinity, then you've potentially been bumped up a spot within the top ten, or if you were waiting for the Asus Astral from 'the other place' and were above spot 83 then you might see some movement.

The only thing left is to actually get my PC built and see exactly how many ROPs I have!

Been little to no movement on any queues, if you read on reddit.
But they are also prioritising systems over anything.
Sounds like most of the movement in the queues is from people cancelling.

My Asus 5090 TUF OC went from 13th to 3rd last week - so I assume that was 10 cards arrived. I can't imagine 10 people ahead of me all cancelled at once!

Unsurprising considering the issues, but my mate has been stuck in the same spot in the 50s for the 5090 Zotac Solid for a week.

As I'd mentioned earlier here, anyone above 50 might as well cancel as they'll likely see stock coming in other places long before your number is up. Same thing happened with other launches where people 50 and above for models didn't even get close to first in line before other resellers had stock coming in.

I have no idea how to find anything on Reddit. Each subject reads like 10,000 2-post threads on here, with ye olde posts highlighted first. Usually the only things that get conversations going are emotive takes.

Maybe that’s me being a dinosaur…

We've had one shipment of Palit Gamerock 5090s since I joined the queue, with 7 cards. I've fallen a further 3 places due to people cancelling. I haven't been pushed back any other places, despite the Palit being a card I'd expect to go into a lot of pre-builds where no brand is specified and support did tell me directly that they don't prioritise them.

That said, I note their 5090 pre-builds all have ETAs of "3-4 weeks" or mid-March and I know the estimates for some models of the 5090s were for much later than that when pre-orders were open. Maybe there are one or two brands they expect to free up in mid-March. Or maybe they told me porkies.

Think it depends what card you're on. Some are getting routine stock while others are getting scraps at best.

The TUF has been one of the most frequently supplied cards so far. The Other Place mentioned two shipments of it in their daily updates last week and we've seen a few drops at other retailers.

One of my banks always declines on big card purchases so I have to do it twice. I've stopped using it for situations where time is of the essence. They never learn.
