NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

Buy a second hand 4090 for a thousand quid it will be just fine for another two years at least its better than paying over 2 grand for a 5090 and being in a queue for months.
Thats exactly what im thinking, cheaper water blocks too! Will still try on the day but saving over 1k would be a great thing

Like Gibbo says it would be better to wait a couple of months before buying a RTX 5000 series Gpu. But some of us can`t can we. :D :D :D

I bought a 3090 for the VRAM upgrading from the 3080. If you havent bought that class fo card its pretty incredible how much better the 3090 is than the 3080 in terms of soft stats. What i mean is that a 3080 with say 50fps is a lot more noticably stuttering than a 3090 only doing 53fps. The frame timing smooths out tremndously and i'm pretty sure there is more going on. I bought it for the VRAM when playing VR and it was the best upgrade I ever made, bougth an FE from second hand store for £600 with a 24month warranty (lol for warranty).

- Reference removed.

Anyways I want a 5090 for the VR and the future performance, 4090s didnt really drop in price like everyone said they would so I'm just going to buy now rather than wait.

Again, using your own logic, never complain about bots ever again. The mental gymnastics on display here is on a different level.. "Scalping for me, but not for thee".

Grow up mate, you're the one displaying mental gymnastics... Comparing mass scalping with bots to somebody buying 2 of something to offset the cost of the one they plan to keep?

Sounds like you had no self control and decided to pay scalper prices for something and are now butthurt blaming them for selling it at a high price instead of blaming yourself for being impatient. You're a typical example of todays entitled society pointing the finger at others when they should be pointing it at themselves. Scalping only happens because people are willing to pay stupid prices. People buying from scalpers funds what they do and makes the problem worse. If anything, the scalper is the smarter one of the two and the person paying more deserves it for being dumb enough to do it

Is "Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5090 Windforce OC 32GB GDDR7 PCI-Express Graphics Card" going to have only 12VHPWR (1x) instead of 12v-2x6 (1x) ?
This is a concern and I am unsure on specific cards power connectors. Forgive me if I am wrong, but in terms of actual use (aside from safety concerns) they are all backwards compatible right? As in a 12VHPWR cable will work with a card with the new connector?

I doubt any new 5000 series boards will use the old 12VHPWR plug. Even some 4000 series cards are using the revised, and renamed, 12v-2x6 (Also labelled as H++) so why any AIB would use the old revision is beyond me.

Remember, the change only relates to the socket, not the cable.

Ah OK, if it just relates to the socket that's fine then, I should be OK with my current Cablemod stealthsense extension cable then.

Honestly, I wasn't able to get a single card on launch on here, not during the 3080 release, the 4090 release and I doubt I'm gonna be able to get the 5090 and it'll just end up being in a queue for a few months so I'm gonna sit this one out for the first time lol.

I’ll try and get a 5090 on release and failing that I’ll look at a second hand 4090 like the others are doing.
Still feels like the 4090 price is too high on the second hand market, the uk competitor who provides 5 year warranty has them around 1600 which I guess is good for having such a long warranty. No idea if that is voided by waterblocking, probably is. Will also keep a look out on the clearance section of ocuk.

I also spoke to a friend of a friend who usually bots for high profile product releases to resell and he said that he did not plan on attempting to bot the 5090 due to “the cost of living crisis making these things too expensive for the average person” so risky for him to try and sell on. I am sure others will still attempt to bot and it is very hard to tell what the “in demand surge price” of these things will be.

"Won't you make a try for it?"

I thought of this image and even the clock is just past 2pm!

Scalpers are going to have a field day with this one… I just hope people will not buy at scalper prices and let those scalpers eat it.

It was the case for 4080’s.

You just sound silly typing up an epistile riddled with contradictions and hypocrisy. I have never and will never buy from a scalper as I would rather forego an item than reward some charlatan scalper.

You are only mad because you know you are a hypocrite for complaining about scalping while being a scalper yourself. Waffling nonsense about "today's entitled society" to make yourself feel better for being a shameless hypocrite. If you need to be mad at anyone, look in the mirror mate.
