The performance is certainly not fine when the 4080 super is beating it and the 5070 Ti is only about 5% to 15% faster than it's predecessor the 4070 Ti!. It's bloody pathetic.Only just put it up

With buyers like this no wonder the market is in such a mess.I'm number 11 in the queue for my overpriced and underpowered 5080. So excited! I only paid £400 over MSRP too so feeling pretty happy about that![]()

I'm really fine with 4000 owners being disappointed in this gen, you don't have to buy cards yearlyThe performance is certainly not fine when the 4080 super is beating it and the 5070 Ti is only about 5% to 15% faster than it's predecessor the 4070 Ti!. It's bloody pathetic.
Performance would be fine at £650 but anywhere near £1000 is a sick joke. Can always trust digital foundry to back Nvidia, performance is clearly not fine
Jebus, the 5070 Ti is a disaster
True and been there for 2 years 50 series does seem like a refresh cash grab, 5070Ti is just a 4070 Ti super duper edition.Yeh but other than the 5090 there is literally no point in the rest, we already have cards at that performance and price.
I would say the 5080 is the biggest disaster. Only about 10% faster than the 5070Ti with the same vram.
the 5080 is easily the least attractive card this gen.
I totally get the hate on this generation but the hate should mainly be on the pricing and not necessarily on the marginal performance increase.
Why, like it or not Nvidia have shown there hand a long time ago by going down AI, dlss, frame generation route. Didn't jensen say Moore law is dead, and although that might not be true quite yet it's not far off.
We probably will never see large performance increases again between generations unless some new revolutionary tech come along in how raster performance works.
Im sure i heard one reviewer also say that even on the next node shrink they don't expect a massive performance increase like there was between 30 and 40 series. The technology is reaching its limit and that's why Nvidia and others have, and will go down upscaling and frame gen technologies instead from now on.
Again unless something revolutionary comes along we really shouldn't be upgrading between generations anymore, just like phones.
This generation, if priced correctly would be a great step up for anyone on 30 series or older. I went from 3090 to 5090 and the increase was huge.
I only went 5090 as I was originally contemplating getting a used 4090 once 5090 came out but obviously pricing and availability made 40 series price rocket too and it was daft buying second hand for new money as I was lucky to bag an FE.
Until pricing is sorted it's a no win situation.
Sad though £600-750 should have been launch price of the 4080 but miners, covid, scalpers and AI bros have jacked up demand and FOMO.I would say the 5080 is the biggest disaster. Only about 10% faster than the 5070Ti with the same vram.

The 5070ti at RRP (when all the release hoo ha settles) wont be too bad. Should defintely be in the £600-£650 region and not the £700-£750 region though.
