Nvidia should do a buyback scheme for 2080ti owners

This thread makes me laugh. Sorry. Turing owners only have themselves to blame. They should have seen that Turing was a crap show AND too expensive to boot.

Nvida must be operating a retailer buy back scheme for 20xx series cards. Even Nvida can't burn large online retailers, unless they are operating on a sale or return basis.

I don't know. But I have noticed that many retailers have very small numbers in stock at the moment. I doubt that is a coincidence.

Given the current pricing structure, this isn’t anything new. It’s more than likely dictated by the fact there’s a bigger card coming next year.

So if you’re feeling a little hard done by, just wait a little longer and some of the same people trying to get your back up in this thread will be the ones with their prams empty. Enthusiasts have very short memory spans lol.

The funny thing about all this is, he will go buy two 3090’s and we can expect a similar post again in approximately 2 years when the 4000 series arrives :p:D

100% this. I realised this around the time Pascal came out and people thought the idea of the 1070 matching the 980Ti at a cheaper price to be ridiculous. Lol.

Just sell it to someone for £500. List it right now on the bay and it will be the cheapest buy it now 2080ti available. Someone will buy it.

Not sure why would you want to hand in your 2080Ti and £500 to get either 3070 or 3080. Sounds like a bad deal to me.

Agreed, don't think the OP really thought about it. As so many on here like to say, Nvidia is not your friend, they want as much of your money as they can extract from you. If there were no consoles or RDNA2 coming they would be even more expensive.

I'm sure he does but 3090 is not a "gaming card" so it wouldn't be like for like :)
But he doesn’t know that does he? If he did he would not be coming here every time Nvidia release a new gen of cards asking silly questions :p

Got to love Hobib. Every time nvidia release new cards he is here asking some funky questions. I still remember when he was asking if he should buy 980 Ti Kingpins about a month or so before Pascal came out. I told him that was a bad idea, he proceeded to buy 2 of them, then came back crying about it once Pascal came out shortly after. Lol.

If I remember right he was asking about SLI with the 2000 series, he was told SLI is dead, I am not sure, but I think he went on to buy two 2080Ti’s :p

Now this :D
you 100% correct, you gotta try right,

and everyone has a moan about something here and there

You won't get any cool points by begging Nvidia for money. Be rational - winter is coming, all those watts 2080TI will churn out are gonna keep your house well toasty.

Like a upgrade scheme, hand in the card pay £500 and get the 3000 series cards

a lot of companies do that.

No, you made a decision and then feels hurt by the loss of money spending it on a flagship that was made obsolete by the 3070.
and nvidia wont give money away
