Nvidia should do a buyback scheme for 2080ti owners

My favourite is this one:

ok basically i bought 2 kingpins 4 days ago for 500 each, just noticed the 1070 strix for 500 each too...!

Now im feeling a bit unwell as i think i made a wrong decision

Feeling a bit unwell. Lol.

It’s like dude, I keep trying to help give you good advice (to help keep you well :p) but you keep doing the opposite of what I say. Haha.

if you recently bought a 2080ti you are stupid, end of story, money should be taken away from stupid people.
If you bought it a year ago you got to have the best performance for a year and that`s awesome, i doubt any early adopters are too happy thay their card is worth 300-400£ tops now but they will be okay, people who are poor dont go around buying 1200£ graphics cards.

You be surprised how many buy cards they can't afford on "credit". And, are probably still paying interest to pay it off still today. Therefore, I truly believe there are some, even here, who are still paying for their 2080/ti.

And as i said money should be taken away from stupid people, first for buying a gpu u cant afford, second buying it on ur credit card, and third buying it so close to new cards launch. The information is out there, gooogling is not that hard.

Then they are absolutely stupid. I'm sorry if this offends someone but this is just not a viable way to live. I'm talking from experience here btw, having collected an 80k pound debt due to stupid choices and almost no income starting back 15 years ago. I'm free of the debt today because I wisent up and managed to pay it off but what a ******* nightmare that was. No GPU or PC or other luxury items are worth the amount of trouble it brings to just buy such items on those silly loans with sky-high interests. Some of these loans btw have been banned here in Denmark btw due to how they target low-income households and have an interest rate so absurd that people have a hard time getting out of debt again.

Some credit is interest free, my bicycle was £1750, it's paid over 12 months interest free.

If you are an enthusiast or you have a monitor that demands more than your current card can supply, then you would have been keeping an eye on the upcoming 30 series and won't have bought a 2080ti in the last six months. Other people, well, really the 30 series won't affect them at all. They will happily keep playing games for some years. So no, really, I can't see NVIDIA doing anything. Last one I bought was a 2070S, because I knew even the 2080ti wouldn't be enough, so the 2070S was really just stop-gap until the 3080/3090 came out. I mean ANY card you buy stands a chance that it will be outdated ( to some extent ) inside two years.

Exactly what I did too. My old 1070ti I knew didn't stand a hope at 3440x1440, similarly the 2080ti would be better, but still unable to max the 144hz refresh rate. The 2070s seemed like a sensible stop gap with every intention on my part to blow £1500 on whatever 3000 series flagship would be.
Changed my mind, the 3080 offers the performance I want and is nearly a grand cheaper than I was willing to fork out. There's simply no looking term value in the halo products, I'd rather just upgrade again sooner.

Exactly the same here. I have a 3440x1440 that I want to drive well above 60Hz. I knew the 2070S wouldn't do it, and it doesn't! ( actually it doesn't do too badly...but...) So I have been eagerly awaiting the 3080/3090. Looks like the 3080 is going to be the one!!

Exactly the same here too :)

The 2070s was a decent upgrade for me (from a 980ti) after moving to 1440p but it doesnt generally quite get there on the frames, so 3080 will be for me, I'd like to hold off for reviews but it's that new tech appeal that calls out sometimes isn't it lol

Anyone that bought the 2080ti surely just wanted the best card regardless of cost. Surely no one buying them thought they were good value with a 2 year lifecycle...
Not sure why so many people no understand this

I pray they never look at things like £1200+ iphones & samsung note phones that only have about a 1 year life cycle before the new version comes out :p
