Nvidia Showcase: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is Drop Dead Gorgeous in 4K

I was going to post but didn't want to be the first one to say how truly terrible the cutscene was in terms of acting/story.

In terms of drop dead gorgeous... I really don't think so. The whatever the metallic things were, containers, looked flat and dull as others have mentioned. The lighting looked very bland. For a new game and talking up graphics calling that video drop dead gorgeous seems odd. It looks pretty limited and basic graphically.

If you look at the opening bit where she sitting in the chopper just before it zooms in on here. As someone mentioned poly count, her bra looks so not smooth in that sense. The panel at the front of the chopper looks like early 00's texture quality. Her hair looks decent but not spectacular. In fact the only bit that looks decent is when completely zoomed in on her face her eyelashes actually stand out as looking incredibly realistic along with her eyes. Nothing else stands out as amazing for me though and there is a lot of poorer textures and bad quality things to offset the eyelashes... which lets face it which are you going to notice in game, the 3 seconds that zoomed in to a face or 90% of the game where general textures look flat and dull?

Yeah seriously - if felt like watching my 6-7 year old nephew acting something out with action toys inbetween scribbling with his crayons... couldn't believe it was in something in a big name video game promoted by nvidia lol.

What happened to Metal gear :( it seems with every game Hideo has just gone further and further away from the sneaky/soldier stuff and turned it into just a jumbled up bag of balls.

Christ, shes got some knockers!

That made me fly back up the page and press play :D

I didn't see nothing exciting though, All game engines produce high quality cut scenes or intro's or sneak peeks or whatever, It's disappointing to hear they've got microtransactions in the multi-player, Even if they are more of a completionist issue.

It really jumped the shark for #4. Almost like he was consciously trying to kill off the Metal Gear franchise.

At least Rising was an awesome game (nothing at all like MGS tho).

There are loads of over done things in film/tv/game that irk me, but maybe the one thing that down right makes me angry when I see it is when a bad guy or good guy ends up anything from 10-50 yards infront of a team of guys with rifles... and their first move is to run within 5 yards and surround them. It make me cringe, they are rifles, they aren't agile and are only dangerous in one direction. You don't close the distance with a freaking rifle, swords, batans, tasers of some kind(like stick ones not gun ones) you close distance, but rifles...

That particular part just made me think, what kind of amateur **** is this. Then the whole, detain her... no kill her.... no don't kill her... I mean, I'm going to have to kill her soon, but I'm not going to do it now when it's easy, but later, myself... and all done with awful acting, /cringe.

Honestly having only played a few minutes of one game on the PS3 ages ago I was kind of interested to get a chance to play a cinematic game with good story on the PC, plus the internet is full of jokes/images/memes based on Snake waddling around with a box over him that make me laugh so I wanted to play a game with that in it.

That video, the woeful writing and story and dull looking graphics have honestly put me off. I mean Just Cause 3 just looks like epic fun, from playing JC2 it's over the top but knows it is and is loads of fun with it. This video was so serious yet so awful. JC3 I can't wait for, Snake not on a plane but in a box, I have very little interest in.

Lol yeah man ,why would Nvidia want their name anywhere near a game with a 95% average score and 10's right across the board. Played them all and loved them all. Its crazy japanese-ness to the max and Im even more happy Nvidia have included GW :)

Stuff like Shogo: Mobile Armor Division and some of the earlier mgs games were crazy japanese-ness, that cutscene was trying so hard it was embarrassing.
