I hope so as even though i only got to try mantle a few times it was a good experience. Worked extremely well in bf4.
Off-topic, but are you still using the same e-mail address over the last few year?

I've been checking through all my e-mails; I've just replied to an e-mail back from June lol, I've sent the info you needed anyway. Cheers. :)

Got it mate. Cheers.:)

The one where I pointed out Nvidia said they hadn't discussed it with AMD when you argued otherwise?

Then had to point out that Nvidia ordered a cease and desist order because you hadn't read that far in one of the articles you posted that showed bad AMD couldn't even supply the coder an AMD gpu, when they did, all because you linked an article that you didn't take the time to read to the end?

That the one, want the link?

Better still now your bringing PhysX into it, you commented my trust for defending PhysX, anyone can see it if they check.:p

Too much sherry:D

Not even started drinking yet :( But will soon :D Seriously though most of my posts today are in good spirit and not really caring either way. We all want and truthfully need both AMD and Nvidia doing well but on a serious note and speaking personally, that OP video is terrible and does come across as a complete whine because his beloved AMD are not doing so well of late but that is my view and I don't expect everyone to take that stance.

All I'm gonna say is a top end gfx card should cost top end 5 ton. At max twice the price of a console. Who started the ****** price war ? :/

The above np with, there is the tiny majority that doesn't agree with the guys vid, so was expecting the few that disagreed here too.

majority?

I imagine it's like when people have problems with something. Only those with a problem tend to post about it, those with no issues don't always feel the need to post saying so. With this, people not looking to have a go at Nvidia probably didn't look for the video, let alone watch it and rate it.

Yep that's how I feel too.

Looking at the video's latest statistics, there have been over 120,000 views already. It's really great that this video gets spread as much as possible, to enlighten more and more people who have no idea what AMD is up against.

At the time of writing this, the video got 8605 likes, and only 379 dislikes. That's only 4.4% of the audience that dislikes the video, showing that the majority support it's findings.

If as you say is correct you would think it would have a direct correlation on sales to support the voting if that is how people feel. It doesn't so I would take more from that.

In all honesty I think most people do not bother voting good or bad and as much it is no metric to use.

Of course not - as Mantle accomplished it's job, DX12 is here and we're just waiting for games to support it.

Once they do, NVIDIA's DX11 performance advantage will be nullified.

So mantle's job was a PR stunt showcased by being hack on to a few games and supported only by a few GPU architectures before disappearing into history like so many 3D APIS have before it? Almost as if AMD didn't learn anything form S3's Metal, 3DFX GLIDE, Matrox MSI,Rendition Redline....

Pitty most of what the guy is saying is just outright wrong.

Whilst it's a lovely feature, I don't remember seeing a wolf with a lovingly washed coat that flops about in the wind/movement. Maybe the wolves in the land of the Witcher take better care of themselves ;-)

Let's be honest with all this: AMD don't help themselves, and Nvidia is able to push money and bodies at the situation.

Mantle didn't fail, it was a runaway success.

Seems people forget when MS posted the brief for DX12 it was a verbatim c&p of the Mantle one. "working on it for 5 years" LOL!

So at no point did anyone in all of the Microsoft company ever have a thought or put pen to paper on anything do with a DirectX derivative that was to come after directX 11, in that 5 year period. Mantle was announced and suddenly Microsoft thought oh yeah we had better make another DirectX just like we did with DX 1 through 11.

Well of course all those staunch NVidia supporters are going to take the time to watch and then rate a Video, titled NVidia stop being a ****.

I don't think you understand what he is saying.

Mantle did exactly what it was meant to, for MS to do DX12 and then evolve into Open Source.

That does leave around 111,000 people that are indifferent to the video or didn't vote. So only 7% of viewers actually "liked" the video, so 93% didn't "like" the video, although only 0.3% actually disliked it.

While I don't own any games with TressFX or Hairworks it often looks good in pictures, but then when you see it in videos (often comparing on and off) it looks horrible. I doubt I'd enable either if there was no performance hit, but given that both have a sizeable performance hit they'd need to be considerably better for me to use them.

Perhaps the tides are turning? AMD's share price is steadily increasing, as well as reports that AMD is clawing back market share etc.

The 390's are flying off the shelves lately for example.

The 390 does seem to be a popular card, and deservedly so, its very competitive.

390 is probably the card in that sort of price bracket id reccomend theese days. The 970 is pretty decent as ive used a friends system with one installed. However i think going forward the 4gb of ram will be an issue even at 1080p. On the 390 with 8gb you will likely run out of gpu grunt before you max the ram, but still at least you have the extra ram in the tank and can get by on a few lowered settings. I actually considered a pair of 970's to replace 780 sli, (heat issues). But i had a fair idea that the 980ti was coming along so held out for it.

I hope your right, have you got a link to the 390 sales, how much are they outselling The Nvidia equivalents by?
