NXE Official thread

What the hell for? Some of your games you haven't played for over 3 months. Why install games you rarely play?

I will install Gears 2, COD5 and Fifa when I open it. Anything else for the occasional game evey 3 months is a waste of drive space. I will probably never need or want to install more than 4 or 5 games at any time.

I'd install them all if it meant never having to reach for the disc, but I still need to do it so I'm not that fussed.

The majority of the games installed are new and only just opened since I only got back my 360 under two weeks ago. The others are games I do go back to so I know in advance that I may as well install them now and save myself the hassle later on.

Well I've been doing some testing this afternoon and can confirm that I can use a memory card (with my profile and game saves) on my two xboxes.
I've installed a copy of a game on two separate machines with their own hard-drives and it seems to work quite nicely.

Why wouldn't it?

I've had two "freezes" already when browsing the friends screen. It seems the whole console has crashed but it comes back to life after 10 seconds. Most weird.

Well

Installed when I got home

Rebooted

4th Red Quadrant

E74 System Error

Am I screwed? :(

Well on my previous posts within this thread I was slightly annoyed to find that an installed game will only play on the console it's been installed on - making it annoying for me as I have two consoles and wanted to share one HD between them.

With that in mind I just wanted to share my experience with other multiple xbox users that using a memory card with multiple installs works ok (and let's face it, if MS implemented this restriction on tying the install to the console there could've quite easily been other restrictions).

Good new my xbox is alive again! Thought I would try it again and its now booted and downloading the rest of the update :D Unreliable, I seem to have one that just wont die.

Anyone else having problems with xbox.com page? Earlier every time I visited it it logged me out, now it is asking me to accept some new terms and conditions (hence the forced logout, I guess). The next page fails to load.

Marketplace link shows a sort of template but no actual content and it asks me to install Microsoft Silverlight?

Thanks for doing the tests. That's good to know, although why they felt the need to limit the install to the console it was done on is beyond me!

You need to install Silverlight and yes the page is having some problems right now, I guess it's been absolutely hammered.

I gave up trying to browse the market place from work for now.
