I agree with you on this, when I first started using the NXE it seemed faster and more fluid but I noticed how with each passing day it just seems to get slower and slower:confused:.

I hate it. I'd pay to have my dashboard back. I only ever use the guide button. Navigating the friends list is a slow pain in the backside.

Three pages of crap menu's to flick through to get to the friends list or just to launch the game disc. I need those two sections alone, not marketplace, showcase or any of the other advertising pap.

Scrolling through the friends list is much much slower than the old dashboard.
 
I would also to pay to have the old dashboard back although would have to include the install to HDD option though. Thats the only plus point of the update for me.
 
NXE is great IMO, using the old dash now feels like a big step backwards.

I don't have any problems browsing MP either, everything is there as soon as I view it's page.
 
I prefer NXE, I enjoy the chat groups a lot, and the installing to the HDD.

I do think the guide is very slow though, really annoying if someone sends you a message and you quickly look at it in game but then it hangs and won't go off the guide. Very annoying. I'm sure it's fixable though.

The features you mention are great but I'd be just as happy to have them on the old dashboard. The new one looks like someone has just thrown up a load of adverts over my screen.
 
Yeah, I find all the advertising a bit annoying. And why there needs to be "spotlight" and another advertising section (forget the name) is beyond me. One would suffice.

Just wish I could set the "My xbox" section as default.

I personally don't have an issue with the friends list myself. It took just as long to scroll down the list as it does do go across the new one - in fact, I think the new one is faster. I also like that I can easily see who is playing what, and telling between who is online or off is easy too.

Edit:
Oh yeah, I also hope they sort out the "sticking" that sometimes occurs when using the guide button. Sometimes feels like its just hanging forever...

It didn't for me because I used to use the triggers to scroll down a page at a time on my FL. Use the triggers now and it throws you to a new menu.

So I tend to do it the guide way rather than scrolling through a page of loading avatars.
 
Its the loading time when I try to fast scroll makes using that system annoying. Scrolling to W for Wyrdo to send abuse takes me an age that way :D

Ah right, all the avatars on my friends list are there instantly, even quick-scrolling right to the end. (with a list of ~70)

Yeah it's weird in the early days it was pretty rapid, I assumed it was rapid because it was loading a small page in sections as you scrolled. Now it slows down and the avatars either don't load of the scroll speed slows right down.

It's made that page next to useless (for me) apart from seeing whose online in a party.
 
I love the features, the layout and most things about it. The speed however is shocking now. It was so fast in the preview program but since it went out to everybody mine is a pain to use now. Takes an age in the guide to to do most things, especially accessing messages during gameplay, I've generally got a 20 second wait in between screens. The friends page on the NXE itself usually works no problem for me but on occssion I have to wait for the avatars to load. The Marketplace seems ok, although I generally browse online at work now so haven't noticed it at home.
 
Been chatting to a mate of mine in America and he has this weird snowglobe feature on his dash which he can shake and people on your friends list appear in it and fall over and do crazy stuff.
I looked and can't see it anywhere has anyone here in the UK seen this or is it only availble to those with USA accounts.:confused:

Theres a free theme? Is it a premium theme?

I want something nicer than the standard layouts/themes, but not prepared to spend the amount they want for the premiums. And all the old themes I bought obviously don't look as nice any more.
