I'm sorry... was the operating system of the console a deciding factor in your purchase rather than the games you play 90% of the time? Grow up.

Think it's time I got a new one, installed GOW2 and it's almost full.
Why is it again I have a 20gb HDD but can only use 10Gb of it?
13GB. 7GB is reserved for patches, updates, cache and backwards compatability emulation.
Well, so far so good. Seems like a nice update, runs smoothly and I especially like the copy to HD function. Not wanting to shell out £60 to Microsoft for a bigger HD though

Leaving to idle is far worse than turning it straight off as you speed up the cooling process, increasing wear on the components.
That's a good pont, although if the GPU/CPU temp is higher (after a hard gaming session) when you turn the machine off, there'll be no airflow to remove the heat. As it's sat there idling, the heat left in the heatsinks will be comparatively less and therefore less heat on the components.
My Xbox is still in warranty but I'm so tempted to rip it to bits and mod it to hell (cooling wise).

Heat isn't what kills components, it's heat cycling though (Or rate of change of temperature to be more precise). Since there is no more heat being generated when you turn it off it will cool naturally at a slow pace.
On the other hand you can't save a 360 by being careful with heat really without replacing the x-clamps so you may as well keep doing what works for you.

I have just installed GTA IV on the HDD and the game runs a lot smoother and makes the game a hell of a lot more enjoyable imo.
I think I will get into this game more now and complete it.
I was thinking of getting the Fable II theme as that looks pretty cool. Is there any way of previewing them though? I thought they would surely give you that option rather than you just taking a risk on something willy nilly. It's only because I've seen the Fable II theme on kotaku that I know what it's like.

Anyone getting extreme lag when playing online?
I join games in Gears of War 2 and when the match starts my character is bopping all over the place and the chainsaw/bullets are not registering. Was in the middle of Horde earlier on wave 31 and I disconnected.
I'll leave it until tomorrow, i guess it's just everyone downloading NXE.
