i have a deal that ends next month...

500 any time mins x 500 text that came with the k800i for £20 a month, if i want that deal again i need to pay £35 with the k810i! - i have tried 3 or 4 times on the phone, and even said i'm leaving and asked for the addy to write to in order to quit..... any ideas or have the days of a good haggle and deal gone?

They are not interested these days in existing customers. All they are bothered about is the number of new connections they get each month.

35 notes for that phone and deal don't seem bad to me.

Long gone are the days of "free free free, to keep you here" :D

I seem to have to change after every contract, and I'm a big spender

eg last contract, T-mobile Flext 45 per month every bill over 130 still wouldn't give me a free N95 at upgrade time. Their loss, Oranges gain ;)

I know a few people who have recently got an N95 for free with O2 as an upgrade on a £30 & £35 pm contract. Also some of them are getting 500-600 minutes with it.

Phones4U were being nice to some of them.

Now, my father upgraded to an N95 last week for £60 on a £25pm contract with free itemised billing on Vodafone. They offered him that since he was a loyal customer who has been with them for the past 11 years or so, but I don't know if you would actually call that a good deal for a loyal customer, would you?

I got a K810i for free on a £19pm contract lol

But I don't get 500x-net mins, just 50mins as I don't call anyone. But I do get 500 texts.

I didn't like the K810i but some one on the bay paid me £198 for the pleasure of owning one.

You'll probably find that they are interested fundamentally in profitable customers, rather than those who they effectively have to pay to be with them... Better to take a chance on a new guy who might make a profit than run with an existing customer you know won't.

i'm just gutted it has to go up 50% to stay with them - for me that is well out of order, but i can see what you mean about spending money with them, my bill never went over £20 as i had the 500 x net mins and 500 texts

Not true in my case ;)

Very strange way to run a business, I spend a whopping 1500+ a year on my personal mobile.

That certainly is a bit odd, as you'd be a good customer for any network most likely :)

Think about that, at £20 a month it's £240 a year, the phone is probably worth more than that on it's own, without the network usage and upkeep.... £35 a month gives a much better chance of not actually paying you to be there.

Certainly is, They only wanted 20 notes, but it was the princible of it.

Orange now have my business, and so far... Very impressed :D

Shudders at thought of orange BB

it's not that bad i'm already on it! - i have the 8mb unlimited pack for £18 a month - it was wanadoo until until they brought them out - just don't like the idea of a 18month contract!

Am due my upgrade, and when I phoned last month I said i was thinking of cancelling, (I have 3 Contracts  ) and the guy I spoke to said that seeing as i had been a good customer for 3 years, I could have any phone and they would drop my £35 a month to £20, and the tarrif i'm on is quite good anyway so.. win..

Lets just hope they stick to it when i call them in a week or 2.. then again next month to cancel my other contract :D

Ask for your PUK code. Watch them throw the best mobiles at you then.
;)

I think you will find if you ask for your "PUK" code, the only thing they will be throwing at you is the unlock code for your SIM ;)

That only works if they want to keep you as a customer. Quite often these days, if they don't think you're worth keeping as a customer, they really don't care whether you stay or not. Asking for a PAC code in this situation will merely get them saying "Certainly sir, it will be in the post for you".
