OBLIVION - MooSe's Essential Links/mods & Tips

Yeah, I can't work it out. I've reinstalled the mod and reinstalled the 1.2 patch but there's still no joy - hdr is definately on and I can't see any options in the ini that I may have disabled - shaders are still set to 3.

As you can see, no shine! :(

have you got the specular slider at minimum? this controls the reflection. the higher the slider the greater the distance you'll see reflective textures.
mine is set about 1/2 way on the scale.
if you get no joy leave a feedback message for authors at TESS.

well after scanning thru the TESS feedback I found this:-

"That's no excuse...get to modding! I started small and it's taken me almost a year to reach this point and I'm far from being where I want to be modding-wise. You can have both shiny and non-shiny. Simply pick the shiny one during the reward script and go to the store to purchase the non-shiny replica."

and scanning further I found you get the choice of shiny or non-shiny when you open the crypt. the readme does'nt state this.
there are replicas at Best Defence but you'll have to check if they are shiny or not.
otherwise its reload last save game before you opened the crypt job........... :(

I made sure I had a save available directly before opening the crypt and eveytime I select "reflective" when given the option I still appear to get the "non- reflective" option - bizarre!

Ill give the replicas a try.

I can only assume the latest 1.2 update hasnt installed correctly

UPDATES CONTINUED FROM POST 169

Where did we get too?
ah yes replacement bodies and how to make faces pretty etc.
If you use a replacement body such as Exnems eyecandy you'll want associated clothes/armour to take advantage of the shape. Otherwise your npc's/character remain vanilla bodied until you strip them.

Here's some of the best purely for Exnems Eyecandy body replacer.

*None of these screenies are mine - all from modmakers*

Amazon Armour

displayed on a Mystic Elf. nice eh?

amazonarmordv1wd5.jpg

Stock Oblivion Clothing replacer

This replaces all standard female clothing with modded meshes to suit Exnems. Makes a big difference.

Shivering Isles Stock Clothing replacer

As above but for S.I.

Some more Imaginitive sets.

Emerald Armour

Again for Exnems. Just a rehash of Exnems own Amazon armour.

Goddess Armour

Another Amazon rehash

Growlfs Hotbody clothes for Exnem
I dare not show a screeny here as it's a bit risque.....

JB CatSuits variants

This was'nt meshed for Exnems but the catsuits look good and I did'nt get any clipping issues. Lots of choice for those Kate Beckinsale lookalike fans and nice swords + bows too.

Hair from Rens Beauty Pack or Beautiful People.

im so making a lady when i play it again.

And on that subject, it wont start. , basically i can click play, and the game starts to load, on the bethesda screen it crashes and asks to send an error report.

Reinstalled it about 1/2 dozen time and it still happens.

Driver error maybe?

UPDATE: i have fully patched it, including the unofficial patch, still not working

Another great post MooSey!

I understand that i will need to start a new game to use these new hair textures etc? Or will the new eyes, hair etc, be added into the game i am already playing? I don't really want to have to compete the game and all those quests again :o

*cough*
Ahem

Quoted from the end of post 169:

"If you want to change your characters appearance any time in game. IE you've downloaded these mods but don't want to start a new character, go to the console and type "showracemenu". hear you can change race, apearance, birthsign etc etc. you also get the full construction set options of face editing so you have more options. when done, don't hit return. hit savegame then exit from the console to main menu. load up savergame and job's done. If you changed race then obviously all your attributes/skills etc will be different."

Pay attention at the back of the classroom!
topgun, dunces corner NOW!

Right only problem with that, is that it seems to bugger up my stats. For example, if i typed "showracemenu" into the console, and changed my eye color. When i click "Done" it would ask me "Are you sure you want to be an Imperial?" To which i would have to answer "Yes" to complete the change. However, my stats all seem to decrease. I do have lvl100 on all my major skills but they decrease to 76, and my minor skills to lvl10-40 when i click yes. Not i havnt touched settings with Race...

Very enmaddening

you don't click done.
make your adjustments then hit escape and savegame.
now instead of returning to game exit to main menu then reload last saved game.
as long as you don't change race or sex no changes occur.

Sorry... i seem to be taking over this thread with my problems :p

Anyway... it wont let me save. The Save options is greyed out

I would post a screenshot but it doesn't seem to want to take any, nor does my screenshot program.

to take screenies go to oblivion.ini within the "my games" document folder. find the command "ballowscreenshots=0" and set it to 1. then use printscreen. screenies found in your oblivion folder.
much better than using fraps or summat as Obliv needs all your pc resources you can give it.

I think you'll find to get the save option you have to press esc whilst at the mainpage of the race menu. if you try it whilst in say, the face shape menu it'll be grey. I know as i've had the grey savegame.
you can change to female by all means but your attributes will match those of a female so you'll loose some strength and endurance etc but might gain some willpower or whatever dependant on race.
change to female if you want to then use the console to modify attributes like this -
modpca strength 10 - that would increase your strength by 10.
modpca agility 15 - adds 15 to your agility etc etc.

skills are:
adskill blade 10 - etc etc (you need to read the uespwiki on these as you can muck up level/skills/attributes flags)

if you read the uespwiki it gives you all these commands.
if you read the "readme" for Rens Beauty pack or beautiful people they too tell you how to mod characters you already have.

luckily i have 2 young children so have nearly infinite amounts of paitience.
now make sure for homework you read up the uespwiki
