OBLIVION - MooSe's Essential Links/mods & Tips

I've been trying to get this Sia character from Flavian1 working, but when I load the save, she has no eyes! I can't get any eyes working on her either, i've got beautiful people 2.6 installed, not 2.5 like it says, but I can't find a copy of 2.5, so not sure if it'd fix the problem! My other chars eyes are fine... :/

yeah i remeber a host of people could'nt get her working because he's used a mod version no longer available. i thought he was updating it. if you go to bethesda's forum mod section you could inquire there.
i tried her and she did'nt work for me.
i had fun creating my own lady mystic elf.
the man floydian1 has talent though. i think he just likes creating characters and posing them for screenies.

Yeah posing in all manner of rather risqué positions no less! But anyway, I figured out what was going wrong I think! When I loaded the model she had no eyes/hair (Soya wasn't loaded properly) So I reloaded Soya, but still had no eyes. So I went to the race selection screen and noticed that my Mystic Elf Race had been doubled up, one set with eyes, one set without! Creepy! Anyway, i've got it all fixed up now, yay! :D I've got Beautiful People 2.6 loaded btw, but with the combined BP + Soya .esp he provided with Sia loaded too.

hope you enjoy the eye candy :D
she's a bit miserable for my tastes. post some good screenies of her in action.

Hehe, tbh I can't create any character in oblivion that doesn't look like they just watched their favourite pet get viciously slaughtered, they always have such miserable looking faces! Sia actually seems to me to have more of an ambivalent expression on her face, one of the less looking miserable characters!

Anyway, I tinkered around with her looks for a while and settled on a less anime look, used one of Ren's hairstyles, the brunette one at the top of this picture:

Gave her some light brown eyes and light brown hair, and weirdly enough, she looks a lot like my fiancée, lol!

I'll post some pics of the character when I get her going a bit, will probably be tinkering with mods the next day or two, then i'll get to the playing! :D

Hmmm, now i've just come across a new bug... an Argonian with Hair! Ugh, yuck! lol. I'm sure i read someone else with this problem somewhere, anyone here know what could be wrong? Think I might have to replace my data folder and start from scratch...

Just got it fixed! problem with nvidia drivers fusing (i had .22 with .27). Just installing some Armour packs, (fully patched now), then i will get natural environment. Whenever i tried texture i ended up with purple grass no matter what. Have got streamline and oblivion optimizer installed now and all looks dandy, might get all the womens clothing things. they look great.

im having a problem, every now and then walking up or down a hill my character and any npc near him at the time just starts jumping on the spot and then i cant go anywhere, to get out of it i need to re load my game to make it go away.

any ideas how to solve this?

Have you edited uGridsToLoad in your .ini file?

I got that occasionally when i increased that setting to 9 or 11 from the default (5).

I don't know why that happens, and like you say it seems to occur in random places around the map.

The only way i could resolve it was to lower uGridsToLoad again. I find i can set it to 7 and have no problems, so it's better than nothing i guess...

nothing you can do apart from setting it back to 5

i leave it at 7 and when this bug occurs i just quicksave and then shut the game down and restart it

I've never heard of this bug. have you checked the Bethesda hardware problem technical faq i linked at last update?
thats always one of the best places to find your fix.

I initially encountered it a couple of months after release day, when i first started messing around with the .ini. It was one of the first settings i changed. A couple of days later i was wandering around near some water and saw a bouncing deer! :D As soon as i got near it i started bouncing as well. Quite hilarious at the time. :D I coudn't really move properly once i was in this area where everything started doing crazy jumping/bouncing - pressing forward just meant i bounced v. v. slowly in the direction i was facing. However i've since found that if you keep moving slowly forward like this you eventually get back to an area where everything's fine again. V. weird - it's like there are just random patches of land maybe 50 to 100ft square that have this effect and everywhere else is normal.

I remember hunting around on the official Bethesda forums and finding a couple of people discussing the same thing, but nobody had a solution. The conclusions were that uGrids was the setting that caused it for some people though.

But for me, i can set uGrids back down to 7 and not have the issue at all anymore - and i've been running with it set to 7 for about 100 hours in the game now without issue.

why would you want to change ugrids from 5 to 7 or 11?
all you're doing is increasing cells in your proximity causing even more cell buffers to be loaded with associated load times and stutter.
i know you're supposed to get more distant detail but just load a distant texture fix mod.

it only increases the more distant grids around your character.
the standard 5 around you won't have LOD increased.
all you are doing is adding extra grids which forces those distant objects etc (normally outside the standard 5 grids) to be displayed.
much more strain on system and graphical glitches.
a distant textures fix will improve vanilla blurryness and there are .ini tweaks to force buildings, tree's etc to be drawn at further distance.

Thanks moosey no idea there was a thread on here devoted to oblivion.
I`m just getting back into it with all these mods knocking around.
I grabbed catsuit lady and after fiddling around with settings and buying the suits i believe i`m in love.. :D LOL.
I`ve installed quarls tp3 (just wanted to look as my x1800xt 256mb is toiling anyway at 1900x1200)and its STUNNING :eek:So much so the rest of the outside world looks pants :p.
Anyone recommend a good lod replacement to complement it?.

While i`m here i think i`ve done something wrong as exhems body is installed but the mystic elf she`s based on shows the body wrong.Maybe i installed too many packs? ie beaut people, rens, soya and natural faces?
With all this reading about installing stuff prob overlooked something
Cheers keep up the good work
