Oblivion or Fallout 3

Fallout was very good, but the map was smaller than oblivion. Also when the main story ends it takes you to the main screen. wtf!?! It is fixed in the add on patch, but I am not paying for a patch.

Despite fallout being overall very good, oblivion is just bigger, better and has more to do in it. Theres also a bunch of mods that make it even better.

Fallout just feels like it was released BEFORE oblivion, as it seems to be a step backwards.

Nope was great on the PS3, played it for over 160 hours and never encountered one problem with it. Even managed to cure the Vampirism which from others seems to be a known bug in the game.

I prefered the combat in Fallout 3, but apart from that imo Oblivion was a far better game.

On the otherhand as a PS3 owner just get the best RPG out there in Demon Souls :)
 
Haven't got Fallout 3 yet but I am very much enjoying Oblvion. The levelling system is slightly broken, though.

Heaven knows what they'll come up with for the next elder scrolls. :eek:
 
Fallout 3.

It took me a while to get into the game but once in I loved it. 60+ hours (100% Trophies) Just waiting for the DLC now...
Just to note, I had many lockups with the PS3 version, not sure if its the same with the 360. There were parts I had to replay as the Saved game locked the console.

Could never get into Oblivion, although want to give it another go after completing Fallout 3

Tough one for me.

Oblivion seemed so huge and sounds stupid, but even after I'd finished the game I'd find myself just wondering the scenary as if I was in my own little world. Suddenly stumbling across a cave or finding something washed up on the shores always brought a sense of excitement.

Fallout3 I thought had a better story and graphically superior, definately felt as if you were in the thick of the action. Better DLC too (although didn't really think MZ slotted onto the game that well, bit toooooooooooooo far fetched compared to the rest of it).

If I had to chose just one, I'd probably go with Oblivion first. Both are definately must buy games, but I think you'd probably be disappointed graphically wise going from Fallout3 to Oblivion.
 
After playing both quite extensively I prefer Oblivion mainly for the setting.

Of course after losing my game save when my PS3 decided to have a fit I havn't played either for a while.
 
Console versions? Oblivion wins because of game world, lore and sheer content, however Fallout 3 had better mechanics.

PC versions? Oblivion completely destroys Fallout 3. Oblivion mods have easily given me another 100+ hours of playtime. Fallout 3 in comparison just fails, its limited by its own story as theres only so much post nuke world you can take before it gets boring.

Agreed. Oboiboibin will most likely last you a lot longer overall for gameplay but both games are superb in their own right. The main problem is that they're quite similar once you look beyond the graphics.
