Obsidian New RPG Avowed

At least you completed it, I got bored way before that point :(

Me too :(

It just lacked a more deep immersion. Like the fact you could just run around aiming your gun at people in cities and they didn't react at all. That's something that GTA did well over a decade ago.

It's difficult to pin point it but it's like instead of getting more immersed in the world like I have for some games (Witcher 3, Cyberpunk and RDR2 etc), I got LESS immersed as the cracks appeared everywhere and everything seemed paper thing/fake.

"Most"?

It's averaging 80% which isn't bad to be fair.
Be mindful that the access media aren't known for giving unbiased reviews eg. DA Veilguard. That said, on Steam, Avowed has decent user feedback at the moment, but this is from Obsidian "loyalists" who cared enough to buy the game in early access. Will be interesting to see what the user scores are from next week onwards when the mainstream start to play it.

everyone loved skyrim, todays standards are just broken if skyrim would be a bad game if it released today with better graphics.

sure it was buggy, bethseda games always were it was considered part of the charm, the same with GTA series when they had that physics thing going on that lead to bizarre cut scenes sometimes

skyrim was like 100% pure eurojan.

I know people who barely gamed but loved skyrim, probably never completed it but just got immersed in the world

whats the real problem with skyrim? its too complicated? doesnt have a nice modern UI? people would get stuck on the first cave puzzle?
Skyrim is/was an amazing game one of it not the best RPGs I’ve ever played. I never even got half way through the game as there was so much else to do. I remember the first time a Dragon attacked, climbing I think it was the central mountain and snow starting to fall and the winds blowing. Not to mention mods.

Watch Bethesda destroy the new one though whenever that comes out.

Yeah. I have low expectations for the next elder scrolls.

As for this game, looks like it is something I would potentially enjoy. Give a year or so and I will pick it up fully beta tested for a third the price :D

I have no hope whatsoever for that, it was DOA the moment they said they were staying with the same engine. It's not Bethesda any more, nearly all the people who worked on SKYRIM will be long gone, and those who are replacing them are working with an engine that wasn't fit for purpose 15 years ago.

It's incredible just how poorly these studios have been run.
