Octopus Power Ups and Free Energy Sessions

Think they've short changed me, their supposed number is less than what I get from their API. Anyone else looked to check the measurement was accurate?

Its the extra you used rather than the whole amount, you need to average the previous 10 days (weekdays I believe) to get your average

Yeah fully accept they only pay me back the amount used above my average for that same period over the last X windows.

As an example (as I can't remember my digits) my meter read 1000 at 1pm and 1002 at 2pm but Octopus are saying only 1001.

For the little that it's under it's not worth me complaining about, but was just surprised to see them claiming a different ending value at 2pm than what their API shows.

Free elec clarification in regards export

"You're welcome to join in. Free Electricity only measures your energy import, not your export. If you're typically running off your solar or battery power around the time of the Free Electricity session, your normal energy use may be very low, and anything you use from the grid above that will be free. WIN!
During the session, fill your battery up to make the most of the free hour."

50% off IOG for Monday if you don’t plug in on Tuesday.

As we dive head-first into the (gulp) last Bank Holiday before Christmas, we’re all in need of a little recharge. That’s why…

We’re giving you 50% off Intelligent charging on Monday night.

When you charge up after your Bank Holiday adventures this weekend, it could be even cheaper than usual.

Here’s what you need to do to get the Bank Holiday Recharge:

- Plug in on the night of Monday 26th August

- Keep the car unplugged on Tuesday 27th August night

Do this, and we’ll make any Intelligent-scheduled EV charging on Monday night 50% off. (That’s just EV charging, so you can skip the tumble dryer marathon!)

Within two weeks, we’ll work out what you used during the Bank Holiday Recharge and credit your Octopus account 50% back! ”

I'm not sure what the issue is, they'll just refund you half of what your charger uses. They know how much energy it consumes and how long they switch it on for. Multiple one by the other and they'll refund you 50% of that number. Don't forget, it is only 7p/kwh so it isn't a big deal.

I've got a 100% free charge on Monday night.

I'm guessing it is because there is a load of free energy on Monday night but not much on Tuesday night.
