Octopus Power Ups and Free Energy Sessions

No idea if it's regional or not, I got this yesterday.

I always get 2p credit every time they run a hour free session. :rolleyes:

Also how is it an abundance of green energy when according to the National Grid live map they are sill burning gas, nuclear, and biomass.
 
Because there is only an abundance of clean energy in that specific location and there isn’t the capacity to transport it elsewhere. They can either turn off the commercial wind/solar or give it away for free in the hope you use less fossil fuels later.

The national ones were demand flexibility tests, a bit like the savings sessions over winter. They want to know if they can get consumers to use more at certain times if they give an incentive.
 
i got my credit through for the free session on the 14th..... £1.89, which on top of the £1.66 from the one before then (the 10th i think) that is quite nice.

i was even more impressed with the one from the 10th....... i plugged my car in and got an intelligent octopus slot so the energy i used was only 7p a kwh, but they refunded me at the SVR which was rather generous.

the 14th i didnt get an intelligent slot but am not complaining.
