Ocuk Bad Company 2/BF3 clan interest

Goon, since I'll be helping pay for it, don't I get a say? I would like a mix between Hardcore Rush and something like Zelda or Donkey Kong. Liven things up a bit :)

Just kidding... or was I? Enough hot debates - although I love Internet rage - and let's get it cracking. I will shoot anyone, whether they wear TFU tags or OCUK ones. Bring it on!

I am looking forward to the BC2 night tonight. Awesome. I am the only one playing sometimes - sat in the Minecraft room of TFU mumble listening to them bleet on that "water is coming through my roof". I mean, Jesus, come on! Shoot someone!

well if people want this maybe a vote on who wants what type on or whatever then maybe a thread with the two servers at top so we can just join and play simple or maybe a don could edit all the bs out of this so we can just see pure details and go have fun :)

so one would be papalazarus headquarters server

plus

tfu whatever game type server

nice and simple.


that should cater for most until something more official can be done without losing fun in the meanwhile .
 
presumably if you're starting a clan though you'd want the server set up on the game mode of the game you'll be playing in leagues?

I’ve been trying to get in touch with you literally all day, haven’t got your number!

I’l be on about 7pm after I put Ella (Daughter) to sleep…. We’ve always done the same with the server put one up that people want and need, was gona buy this server myself for a month and see how it went….. Still un-sure about a Crysis 2 server…. We’ll have a chat later.

This is what we originally did, between Frenchtart and TFU, we each had different mode’s running for the community…. I’m not going to post any details on the server in here because I’ve totally and utterly de-railed the thread…. I’l post it up on the front page of the BC2 thread
 
Hi chaps. As has been pointed out, I run a clan. We have been together since the BF2 days and are now mainly playing BC2. Main 32 slot server is running Conquest. It sometimes runs Hardcore, which we doing to a few days a week to appease certain members.

We have a 24 slot server due to expire in a month which was running Viet, but it has died a death. Probably going to flip it to something else.

Anyway, we will also be running a BF3 server for sure but I am not here to recruit for now or then, though maybe at some point we may depending on member numbers. We are quite healthy at the moment and I am glad that some of you guys are coming onto our server.

I am more than happy if you would like to use it as an unofficial 'official' OcUK server. What I cannot do is offer reserved slots though.

I know some of you guys have been randomly kicked for an admin and this cannot be helped as it is a automated system. Lot's of our regulars have also been known to us for years, back from the BF2 days and they have to live with it as well.

As funds are always an issue I am happy to look at giving reserved slots out, but as usual, it will need to be off the back of a donation to the running costs. I have not really though about this yet or discussed it with my guys so am just putting it out there as an idea at present.

Will be on my server later so hope to see you there. :)

which playing 32 man conquest will be of no help to.

Shame really a proper game of 12v12 or 16v16 with organised squads each with set roles, in game chat for squad comes and mumble for higher level comms when squads need backup/orders would be a brilliant game.

Though getting enough people on regularly would be very hard for training sessions/tactics testing.

why? he's not going to have any more power. it's not like you'll be banned from the forums for being banned from the clan etc.

just like if you set up an ocuk clan now you wouldn't have any ability to do anything to people on the forums.

only difference is zefan will have to control your use language in the in game text chat which tbh shouldn't be an issue for any clan.

No, but i'm pretty sure a don or someone stated a while back that creating an OcUK clan wasn't allowed, but using tags to identify yourself from OcUK is allowed.

yep the only reason though is because people act like ***ing dicks and it looks bad.

So the only difference will be zef having to moderate your in game language like he does the forum which tbh shouldn't be an issue for any clan as you do your moaning in voice not the public game chat.
so just call it KUcO for now then when he's available to make sure you're not making everyone else look bad change the name.
 
You will need an overall administrator. They will also need to be in charge of the money and own the server and website etc.

You will need tech ops. Successful server management requires a little skill. Admin tools are quite a job to set up correctly.

You will want a recruitment team. You will also want someone in charge of admin. Also a war arranger, if you are going down that route.

In my clan I control the overall admin. Our server and website and domain name are in my name and I own the PayPal account. It is the only way to do it properly but you need the trust of your members. All financial transactions, whether into the clan or out, are made public.

Everything should go to vote or it will lead to arguments, though some small decisions are made by myself and a few others.

I think the main problem making a 'new' clan is who gets what job. Trust is of paramount importance. With older clans the management structure is already in place so new members know it is there and it is running fine as everybody is happy.

There is loads more but these are the basics. :)

Most dons (including zefan) don't work for ocuk.

Not saying they'd do it but the easiest way would just be to perma ban you I'd imagine.
