we dont have one of these on the build manager - but a coolermaster rep was giving Yewen a demo of the case and he called the tech team in to have a look

i must say - in the flesh it is a very very impressive case - i am not usually a coolermaster fan [cosmos, sniper etc all look a bit to flashy for me!]
but this case is refined and very smart looking
Locky and myself had one of our "where could we put a radiator" conversations over it - and that only happens with the best cases!:D

i didnt build that particular one - however i have done a few builds in the eclipse - its a great case to build in - especially good for watercooling - lots of space for upgrades etc!

in reference to the p6t/sli layout

Locky is right - the P6T deluxe uses the top two pciexpress slots
im not really sure of the use of the bottom one - but for two card SLI it provides the best air flow for air cooled cards - the other x58 boards have the cards tight together to accomodate for tri sli setups

when i set up the systems - i have to set up the cards in the right layout

200fps on TF2 maxed on 1900x1200 :D heck my i7 only reaches 15% usage on cod4 :)
it makes my HP LP2475w Look awesome

i need to get back into TF2 [also need a monitor upgrade!]

i would be doing mine as we speak!

myself and Smirnoff has a play with my new kit on saturday
did two overclocking profiles
one that hits 4GHz using a locked BCLK of 200
and another that hits 4GHz using turbo mode
loving the memory profiles set into the dominator - saves a lot of hassle
also like how once you set the memory it doesnt scale up when you increase the cpu frequency

i would use stock cooler for the time being, but i would have to take my board out again
however, my problem is... i have had to order in a mounting plate for my waterblock.
[ek supreme] i only have the mounting plate for socket 775 so i need to wait for the new plate to arrive - then it will go in my build log here
will post comparitive benchmarks too

E8600 @ 4.5GHz - GTX280 - P5Q-E - 4GB Dominator DDR2
Vs
920 @ 4GHz - GTX280 - P6T DELUXE - 6GB Dominator DDR3

the E8600 rig i had before did P15079 in Vantage

we have had an i7/4870X2 rig in last week that got P14500

so im expecting my i7 setup to get around P17000
maybe P18000 if i use my 8800GTS for PhysX

the temptation of throwing another 280 in there will have to wait until i get a 1900x1200 monitor

check my build log for updates on that

its very special! and took a lot of hard work and planning on his part :D

got some cool builds coming up next week hopefully - just waiting on stock for some components - myself or Locky will post up the progress!
 
i will check on monday morning for you - we cleared the build manager saturday so i would imagine so
what spec is it roughly and i will try to remember

its Locky's weekend off so he didnt get a chance to tell me about your conversation with him

im really waiting for him to come in on monday to put a clock on it for you
and do the rest of the configuration

i kind of know what im doing but he has been doing a lot with i7 since launch and knows more about it than me

like i said - it has had windows put on and all that - just needs stability testing really

should ship monday no problem! :)
 
WOOOT, should be here by tuesday/wednesday(latest).

Can't wait to get her and christen her, her name is going to be Mrs Bilson, after rachel bilson :P. I am a total novice at over clocking but i will attempt it with the processor as i got extra cooling for that, nothing extreme though.
 
should be alright - im a noobie to i7 myself - but i think its easier to clock than core2

plus you have the rampage2 so that gives you a big advantage!
 
Yeah i heard the rampage 2 is like noob proof, we'll have to wait and see.

Stage 2 is try and download everything i need for her arrival.

Would you of recommended anything else what would have improved the build within the price range?
 
Have to say i like the look of these builds but having someone else do it for me would feel strange.

How akward is it to run the atx connector under the mobo? I would have thought it would be harder to screw the mobo down because of that pressing against it, also is heat not a concern with the cable trapped under a motherboard that has hot areas?

Also how does mounting the ssd's work? Do they come with 3.5" rail adaptors or do those have to be bought seperately so they can be mounted in a regular hd bay?
 
Well it will feel strange but as i am as experienced with this level of equipment as a senial person i left it to someone who isn't likely to blow something up and waste a lot of money
