I would be up for that.

If we are going to use the OcUK tag then I think promoting a friendly atmosphere is the number one priority. Also need to be careful with language if children are in the channel.

Should not be a problem running a TS server for OcUK gaming as a whole, I actually think it is a superb idea.

How about just carrying over the OcUK forum rules? No swearing, no advertising etc. Would be easier than drawing up a whole new set of guidelines, and you could add more on if and when they're needed.

sounds good . Who would set up the ts server?

and would OcUk have its own clan servers ?
If this theoretical clan were to have a server, or servers, then I think it wouldn't be too much for them to encourage donations from members. I would be willing to chip-in small amounts now and again, as I know how much of a rip-off BF2 servers can be (especially the ranked ones.)

yea i no what you mean.

Although this isnt limited to bf2 :P
Aye of course, but if they did go for BF2 servers then they have to expect it to cost. Might not be worth it in the end but I am sure a CSS server would be easy.

side note . Are you studying in preston ?or just live there ?
I live here mate, and it's very painful. :p

Agreed.
As Yewen knows my War talk is over 18's only :p but he also knows it's to be laughed at and not to be offended by.
I can quite happily control my foul mouth whilst mixing in the lobby etc
The 2 tag idea is perfect but i feel we should draw slightly away from OcUK when it comes to league/hardcore play.
I like the idea of something like Unofficial overclockers or some kind of variant. Putting Unofficial (sp?) in front of our tag tells the whole world we are Not directly associated to the shop but are associated to Overclocking/overclockers.
Ideas on a postcard :p

Odviously in the long term then if we take off and bossman is happy with our image he can choose to assocaite the shop with us.
Either way it just frees the whole thing up if we are not directly related publicly.
[OcUK] can be known as a friendly multi gaming community and within that there can always be hardcore groups that league in there own games.
Like the Unofficial Overclockers BF2 clan/team.
The unofficial overclockers clan sounds totally wrong by the way. :p
One of you clever guys can think of a name i am useless at that stuff.
But there's my thoughts.

Next stage is to organise a Teamspeak channel then we can chat to our hearts content and get things proper sorted.
I won't take the lead though as i don't want to put any casuals off.
Perhaps 2-3 of you friendly dudes could organise the actual [OcUK] gaming community. Then once up and running for a few weeks people will naturally group together.
Just having a community teamspeak channel would be a great start as from day one you could find out what channel people are on and what game etc.
Get on the same server squad up together and teamplay with TS is superb.
I think this would really pull it all together.

Perhaps people should start putting there names forward for the 2-3 places as admin dudes.
Basically anyone who has the time and inclination and would be able to get along with Everyone not just there chosen group. :)

So we set up yet? Or we still deciding on the clan tag?

OCC (Overclockers Clan) and maybe OcUK if Mr Shop Owner guy lets us use the tag? :D

Just going to mention it again, you cant by the forum rules use the popularity of OcUK to build your own community, so whoever organises this will have to be very careful on what they can and can not do.

just remember that

My mistake I used the term community. Odviously i retract it and apologise.

This dodgeyness needs eliminating by the use of Unnofficial or by me :o Not using the term community.
Team/clan is the way forward and unnofficial aswell.
Sorry again and this is a good example why i should not be taking the lead. :p

it would probably be prudent to distance the clan totally from OcUK from the off.
get a clan name going and then the tag, that way you have an identity and members can then join and use it.

also a list of ingame names may help, i like to use bf2s site to track friends and the servers they are currently on . i used to work shifts so couldnt commit but thats changed and i maybe can input/participate more this time round.

my bf2 name ' tega.Syndrome ' - i dont use xfire , just vent and irc :)

No we have already decided to be OcUk or something similar.

Otherwise it will be our own community

they tried to use the OcUK in the last bf2 clan, but it wasnt allowed and was changed to KBW iirc
it was fine to use [OcUK] in public as a means to identify you were from the forum.
or have i missed something and OcUK is allowed for a competative clan now ?

What I personally think would be a better idea is to maybe have a general TS server setup that ANYONE on OcUK can use for gaming or talking, would be a great resource but would need to be moderate to some degree.

Not to sure on the way it would work, but I can always ask about it with the other dons if needs be.

I am all for making a gaming group for OcUK, with casual and no so casual gamers mixed. Would be a cracking addition to the gaming community here.

OcUK will never be allowed for a competative clan, the KBW bit was just the domain I registered to keep news off the forums, basically any old rubbish was on it that you did not want spammed on the forums. :)

KBW never had its own forum, however a limited access forum was setup for OcUK members to discuss the 50K games, not building a community as it was only used for organisational purposes.

The OcUK name would not be allowed to be used for anything you could gain from, helping to make THIS community grow by making it into a better gaming community however I would imagine not to be a problem.

Before we set anything in stone I will want to run it by the shop first though, we never got told (to my knowledge) to stop using the [OcUK] tag in games.

Conducting yourself well goes with the tag, as to a mini extent you are borrowing the shops / forums identity and thus representing them in game. One issue to the shop from it and there would be a ban on its use no doubt.

If you need anyhelp running and setting up stuff I might be of help. Run my own clan well enough :)

Another possibility, (not defo) I could ask my mate to host a website for us, either a php nuke esq thing or a custom site someone could do? He has unlimited webhosting with his package and always lends a hand. I'll nudge him about it.
