OcUK Dadsnet thread

Good news though, everything went smoothly, happy little lad has joined our family.

Congrats!

We are T-minus 12 days out from the arrival of our first! (basically could happen any day now!)

Praying he doesn't decide to make a move during rush hour whilst I'm still at work! Everything ready to go though, partner is now on maternity leave and just waiting. Pretty much the same sentiment in my NCT group throughout, just anxious waiting around until "The Big Pop".

I feel like I can see the light and my girl is not even 4 yet. This morning she got up, did a poop by herself, got dressed and ready for nursery and everything while my wife and I lay in bed. Honestly I was so happy. The sound of those turds splashing in the toilet was like music to my ears. I think maybe when school starts in Sept we might have a semblance of normal life.

So yeah, no more for me thanks. Just waiting to get the snip. Hats off to you brave fellas, but not for me!

As if they guy who started the thread is one and done!

We've got number 2 on the way, fully expecting our (now) 22 month old son to raise hell for the first couple of months of having to share attention and be a sibling but hoping the transition isn't too bad and he's all the better for it in the end.

Howdy fellas, been lurking in here for quite a while now and picking up lots of useful bits of advice but I guess now that it's "official" that the wife and I are due our first in August I should actually pile in ahead of any actual questions I might have (I'm sure I will)... Currently just trying to start thinking about what needs buying etc. and try to cut through all the crap to work out what the most worthwhile bits of kit will be (versus what we can either do without or pickup on the cheap)... Exciting stuff!

Haha hey, I love my daughter, but I've seen how hard more than one is!
I think two can actually be easier our boys (3 and 5) play together loads meaning we don’t have to entertain! It was hell before our youngest was old enough to sleep properly but now I wouldn’t have it any over way. Each to there own though, my brother and sister both have 3 and I think they are mad!

good luck with all the recent and soon to be arrivals!

Our second is three weeks old and we have a 2 and a half year old already. Id heard all the horror stories but so far its been really good. She isn't interested in her little brother if you try and force her to do anything but if you just let her work it out for herself she is desperate to help with bath and nappies and all that jazz. As long as you keep her involved and give her a lot of attention too then I think its ok.

Your mileage may vary of course.

In the same boat here but due in early July, seems so far away still but will come around quickly i guess.

Discovering how hard it is to tell my 3 year old son not to swear when he copies me and then subsequently keep a straight face and not laugh or smile as I tell him off. :D
