OcUK Dadsnet thread

Yeah you are looking at buying a new pram that is £130. It will likely just fall apart again like your current one. Buy a decent one second hand which will lose zero money when you sell it back on.
You didn't though did you I asked for a recommendation, the only products you suggested were shirts.
And the stroller we have is only on it's last legs because it was given to us well used as it is, and it's served us well, so a new one would be perfect, but I'd like bigger wheels, that's it.

Not interested in anything more expensive, we have one of those as well so no need for two of the same it cost us almost £1k, they also don't fold down small enough.

We've not bothered with any designer gear for either of ours yet (eldest being 7) so I think we've done pretty well:D. We have just bought them a pair each of school shoes from clarks for 95 quid:eek:.

We just get the stuff on sale in the supermarkets, and now Emily is wearing all George's hand me downs so double use, then we're donating it to local charity as it becomes too small. All the prem size clothes went to Ronald McDonald House as well as some toys.

Can't beat second hand baby stuff, we saved a fortune on clothes, people pay how much for designer clothes and you can often find stuff with the tags still on for a few quid.
It is nuts isn't it - we get a parcel each day from whatever has been found on eBay. Just got some brand new Clarks shoes for about 3 quid. More fool to them.

To be fair we have been gifted a lot of stuff and sometimes they get overlooked or are too small as every shop has its own sizing.

Adidas is the only one that seems to be on the larger side. Where 3-6 months can still be worn at 9 months.

We have been gifted shoes and because if Covid they haven't had much use or any use at all.

Isn't yours way too young for shoes anyway? Should be in https://www.dottyfish.com/ not Adidas.

He uses them for show lol much like his Gucci belts. He isn't walking in them he can't even crawl yet just roll.
They are terrible for their feet and walking development. Like having weighted logs glued to the end of their developing bones. Get some Dotty Fish and stop using your child as a fashion accessory.

He's literally worn them twice and they are light as a feather not proper shoes. They are literally paper thin.

He has sock type shoes with rubber sole for when he's putting weight on his legs in the jumperoo.

My wife is an expert FYI. She runs a baby store. Where they have free classes, etc from qualified professionals.

This, we were told not to put shoes on them unless they are walking outside.
Those jumparoos are bad for them as well, and the walker things they sit in and can push around.

If a professional says they're okay, well they're in the wrong profession.

We actually had one of those jumparoos things and got rid of it after physio and occupational health said they shouldn't spend any time in them.

They are bad if not used properly.

Only their toes should be touching the floor and they should be in them for a set amount of time.

If full contact then it's full weight bearing which is bad.

Just toes is okay.

All George's paediatricians, physio therapist and soon on must be telling me porkies then. I suppose you say those baby bumpers are okay as well. I'll just listen to the professionals thanks.

"baby walkers or bouncers – these encourage babies to stand on their tiptoes and can delay walking if your baby uses them a lot"

We were told zero time in them is best as they do absolutely nothing positive other than make a parents life easier. Only negatives for the child.

The baby bumpers aren't okay just the jumperoo afaik. It's why we don't own a bumper.

Also kids in the 70's, 80's and 90's used these things and they are still fine today.

I even gifted one to a nephew and he seems perfectly fine too. Vitamin D supplements are important.

I'm sure as with anything it's just a case of moderation - we put our kid into one of those door-mounted bouncers a handful of times just because she seemed to find it fun; I doubt a few rare occasions of letting her bounce in it for a few minutes will have had any affect on her at all. I can imagine if you stuffed them into it then let them flop around there for hours while you get your chores done then it could be harmful though

Had our first run in with Norovirus earlier in the week... I'm sure many of you have been there and of course I knew it would happen eventually, but my lord; by far the sickest I have ever been in my entire life. The knowledge that it will happen again someday is almost PTSD inducing
