Congratulations and enjoy it, it goes fast. My son is 3 now and while not long ago, the time when he was a baby seems a distant memory.

Little buggers grow up so fast. Ours are nearly 18 months old and they look like little boys now. Very sad

Have to resist the urge to have a third. I'll never financially recover from it and I will literally have no life outside of being a parent with 3.

Our first is 22 months on the 1st

I didn’t see her for a couple days whilst we had our second, which is the longest I’ve not seen her for in one period since January whilst on a work trip

I couldn’t believe how much she has grown up, it really does hit you but very likely compounded because I’d been used to our new born the 2 days prior - she suddenly left the realms of our baby, to our toddler

Normally have one of those little Fruitshoots to give to my daughter when I pick her up from nursery, but alas, in my haste yesterday I forgot to pick one up on my way out the door. So, suffocating under the crushing weight of expectation as my wife yaks incessantly with the teacher, a mere ‘quick word while you put Anna in her car seat’ that morphs into nigh on 20 minutes, and having found the empty from yesterday in the footwell, I pour some of my own bottle of water into the now misappropriated Fruitshoot bottle, put the lid back on and hand it to her.

The withering look of betrayal I got in the rearview mirror when she took a sip from that bottle of lies will indeed haunt me to my dying day.

Give it another 12 years and they will be crying on the bed complaining you don't understand Your right I don't, that no excuse not to get your arse in gear and empty the dishwasher and do some chores

Got married at the weekend.

Anyway, went and sat in the foyer with my 3 year old girl, she layed on me, lent back and said

"Daddy why did you get married? What have you got to say for yourself"

Just as the mother in law came and sat down with us lol

What have you got to say for yourself is a favorite phrase from Disney's wish movie that she loves, she really nailed the timing!

What sort of ages did everyone move their kids from cots to beds? Our daughter has just turned 2, she's now using a duvet instead of sleeping bags which has gone quite well but she's showing a lot of interest in having a big girl bed and we're trying to figure out when is best to do it.

Part of me also likes her being in a cot as it stops her getting out in the morning at the moment...

Then it's surgery. They say he has drug resistant epilepsy.

Most children walk around 1. I don't think most kids start taking themselves to the toilet in the morning for a while longer!

We turfed K out of our room into her own room at 3 months.

Her cot was one of of those cot/bed things that you can lower down and eventually remove the side to have a full bed. I think from when she was about 18-20 months we removed the side as it was getting a bit difficult to lower her into the bed as she was getting heavy and my partner is vertically challenged.

She's 30 months now and genuinely can count on one hand the amount of times she's walked into our room.

Yeah, we've got one of the cots where the side comes down but I'm not a huge fan of it in general so I'm keen to swap it out for a toddler bed.

Maybe we'll start planning the bed move as we get closer to Christmas. There's a fair bit going on at this age with her moving up to the bigger nursery in the next few weeks, showing much more interest in the toilet/potty and then now the bed too. I don't want to overwhelm her with lots of change all at once but at the same time we're finding that the only constant thing with kids is change.

We're just behind that phase. I want to get my 2.5yr old into potty training. He is showing early signs of being ready. Lets us know when he's had a "poo poo", sometimes. Any tips? I know literally nothing about starting the training or what to do. But have not done any research just yet into it, either.

We moved our son into his kids bed with our move to the UK this year. He is 2.5yrs old. First few weeks were a little rough getting him to sleep in it.

We've just moved to the UK and our two year old son is so out of routine now and developed a new habit of only going to sleep when we do and has to get into our bed to fall asleep, before we move him to his room.

Before in our home country he would go to bed himself and fall asleep on his own. Zero issues.

The late sunset probably doesn't help either.

We also getting him into daycare and he Is struggling. little with that too. Hoping it all works itself out. He will be with grandparents in a couple of weeks for a sleep over - will be interesting to see how that goes.

I know you know this but nip that in the bud asap, we know so many people who's kids are waaaay past the age that is cute and still do it.
How is he struggling with nursery?

So, since this post; our son has settled into nursery and loves it there. Sometimes I don't even get a goodbye when he goes into class. So pleased about that.

Bedtime has gone back to normal. At 8pm each night, we tell him it's bedtime. He goes up to bed after saying goodnight and turning off lights etc. I put him into bed and leave the room right away. Been like that for over a week now and he just nods off to sleep. Wakes up again at 6ish. Except when he is at grandparents, then it's 9am - lucky buggers.

What's other dads opinions on flu jab / spray in toddlers? My son is 3 and being offered it, I'm not an anti-vaxxer by any means but also don't like the idea of vaccines for everything under the sun. Maybe I'm being old-school as I never had a flu vaccine as a child.

Got the flu spray for my daughter this morning, she loved it as she got 2 stickers from the doctor so was in her absolute element. Spent the rest of the drive from the doctors to the nursery telling me about it.

I don't think it's being old school not getting your child a flu vaccine, I think it's something that is designed to prevent the more vulnerable people (i.e. young kids and old people) from getting quite severly ill.

Thanks yes and fair points, just looking to gather other peoples opinions I guess. We have him booked in to have the spray in a couple of weeks. I guess to me it just feels excessive to be vaccinated for flu every single year since myself and friends to my knowledge never did when we were kids in the 80s and 90s, but maybe its just different times.

Every child of school age receives the flu vaccine in school for purposes of herd immunity.

It's a non-issue, just get it done.
