So you yourself won't call a 0871 number but expect customers to do so? Come on gibbo, you can do better than that.
If I want 25 monitors, I don't want to have to send an email and wait for an hour in the office possibly for the phone to ring. I want to ring you, say I want 25 monitors, hand over account details and be done with it and off to my next job or support call. Further to this I should add : My boss wouldn't find it acceptable for me to use MSN messenger to get a call back.
As I said, I have a non 0871 number for you and use it personally as I despise the idea of paying you 10p a minute to be kept on hold (Sometimes for 30 plus minutes)listening to (frankly awful) music, but I want you to give it to business customers. I also have a 01204 number for a competitor of yours that we use very regularly and currently spend a not unsubstantial amount with.
I know it's on TWO, but the Intel Celeron G530 is cheaper on TWO than the trade price here.
Because were just offering it at a crazy price.![]()
I get all my suppliers to call me with a simple MSN saying call me, I want to spend.![]()
I've said for trade we shall consider getting it changed, however it won't happen over night, were not miracle workers.
For end users, it won't be changing unless the new owners wish to do.
For those interested you can call our trade/business sales directly on 0871 200 5058, these guys will only deal with you if you are a business, if your not a registered company you do need to call our regular sales lines.
Is there a minimum spend for trade ?
A lot of guys I know, myself included (oil and gas industry) are sole trader limited companies ?
I know you don't make much from cpu's, so I'm guessing it's nigh on cost price?
Once you get accounts up and running, is this route a possibility?
I use MSN to chat to one of your competitors in the country (you personally know it well and you may know their names) it's really handy for requesting quotes and talking there and then about what you need rather than bouncing emails back n forth.
Also do you deal with schools? or is it strictly business's only at the moment? Unsure if we're seen in a slightly different category or not.
EDIT: Also, being a school when we spend over a certain amount we have to get 3 quotes for all our orders, are you fairly competitive? I.E if i told you your price had been beaten would you attempt to beat it again or just always give best price from the off?
as we know you will pay.......eventually.![]()
You know us too well then

Normally it's months of "can i have a quote for this this and this" followed by 2-3 months of silence (normally leading up to april) then all of a sudden we hit you with mass purchases when our budgets emerge
Also will you do quotes for items you don't stock? One of your competitors is a bit funny about this (they won't price for HP servers for some reason, i think it's due to trying to push their own tacky range though)
its a shame its only for public companies, i have £1mil per annum IT budget and your making me buy stuff elsewhere![]()
