OcUK First to bring AMD RX 6900 XT SUB £1000 !!!

Not sure about the SE, that would be question for Sapphire directly if you contact their support.

They are all similar. However, I understand the orange air cooled Toxic to be the best binned, as it has a boost rated up to 2500Mhz. Out of all of them, this would be my preferred choice.

I do not believe any of them are XTXH models though, that includes the orange Toxic.

Thanks, may hang on a few weeks to see if the rumoured 6950/6960 brings anything worthwhile. Send if any AIB versions come out, may be wishful thinking but given the 3090ti isn’t that terrible value (relatively to what prices spiked to last year) hopefully the new GPU comes in close to what XTXH AIB cards are priced now to close out this generation.

What price would you expect? £500? I'm not being sarcastic, I'm genuinely curious what you feel would be a fair price given the current situation.
The price I expect and the price I think it's worth aren't the same thing. Honestly I do think it's worth around £500 and I'm not being sarcastic. Barely any performance difference over the 6800XT with a £600 MSRP, which is now almost 2 year old tech. Next gen cards right around the corner and all indications are that it will be a big performance leap, such that even mid range cards will likely outperform it and with better power efficiency. I don't believe shortages will be anywhere near the same due to a number of factors.

Prices never drop dramatically even before the launch. These cards aren't just around the corner.
I recall used 2080 Ti's plummeting to £400 on eBay when the RTX 3080 was announced.

Needs to be under 600 at this late stage, price is still a gross price gouge trying to shift as much stock to gamers quick before the bottom drops out of the GPU market.

Can see you thought process but these were meant to target £999 I think from launch so no way they are going to be sold for what most retailers are putting 6700XT's on offer for. They still got a fair few months to squeeze out yet! :p

Personally wasn't that difficult and that was the 3080, just set alerts for drops
The 80 has had the least drops of them all, took 14 months using alerts for me, luck of the draw I suppose as plenty still haven't managed.

This, every last one of them has ripped the arse out it from limited unit launch day pricing/the hard to get never in stock FE's, then all the way up the stack.

We have no mining boom and no covid restrictions, up coming next gen launch will not be the **** show of the last. GPUs will not be hard to obtain at MSRP.
It could be better than the last but still not great - don't forget, we've experienced paper launches long before Covid reared its head. I'm generally not that confident that we'll see new generation cards coming out readily available at good prices, there are still lingering supply chain issues and firms know people will pay through the nose for top performance.

Don't know what to make of this offer, on the one hand it's the best card you can buy for under a grand; on the other hand, £1k is a ridiculous sum for a GPU that was released 16 months ago. For me, it's not so much that I'm expecting a RTX4070 to rock up for only £600 and blow it out of the water, it's more that I just don't see myself paying £1k for a gfx card unless I was confident I could offload it a while later for minimal loss.

That's the thing, availability of next gen cards is going to have a massive effect on re-sale values.

If you can pick up a mid range card for £600 that offers more performance than the previous flagship you'll be lucky to get £400 for it.

If availability is terrible and mid range cards go for £900 as retailers inflate the prices, then someone selling a 6900XT at £650 might be attractive.

It's almost as if some people have forgotten that. I remember struggling to buy an 8700k at launch and that was long before covid was a thing.

New graphics cards have rarely been plentiful on launch, and even if the current climate is slightly better than it was, it's still nowhere near normality.

So it surprises me that some people are so positive prices will drop, and there'll be thousands of cards just sat there waiting for us to buy.

Look at this way - they've had basically 18 months to get the better tiers of Ampere widely available at good prices, and it still hasn't happened (FEs below 3080ti still sell out instantly, AIB 3070 or better are nowhere near MRSP), so how are they magically going to make it happen for the 4000 series?

The 3080 has actually had the 2nd highest drops the 3090 has had the most

When I was looking they used to drop at least once per month some occasions twice per month but looking at database they seem to really reduced the 3080 drops guess they wanna use the silicone for other models with higher margins

Most say prices will be normal by may, so even tho prices seem better as ocuk is showing, its normal there not special prices per say just the way its been going. So anyone needing new cards probs best wait till may ish.

I'm just skipping this generation, too expensive with drops to MSRP only coming near the end. Summer is almost here and by the time it is over the next gen will have arrived.

That said I love the Sapphire cards but what's that £1k card going to be worth in October?

Not much.

But I don't think anyone should ever buy a graphics card with any form of asset value in mind, a GPU is a tool, you need to weigh up how much you value gaming, how long you think it'll stay at level high enough for your personal choice of performance, and make your buying decision based on that.

The frequency of drops does not equate to the volume available. If there is only 100 units every drop then it will still be hard to snag one.

Unless you have inside information we don't really know how much stock is dropped per drop would be interesting to know

Agreed, sadly too many people get caught up in it that can't really afford to lose that much. If you're minted fill your boots, my thoughts are really for those that need to consider those factors. I'd love one of those Toxic cards but my head says no

Discord channels salavating over scalping the next gen gpu`s......lot of money to be made apparently

You wouldn't think it would be too hard to let the legit gamers register to buy and just sell them one each. I suspect there's plenty of interests pretending they don't like scalping whilst profiting from it themselves.

We do have some 3080 10G under £800 but it’s doubtful an AIB will hit MSRP yet.
