The newer versions look horrible compared with this one. Well, they did when I last checked.

Such an upgrade would not necessarily affect things like avatars/sigs/appearence/features (etc) in the slightest. The forum could be 'almost' identical on the newer versions, just with the added security.

This is pretty much how I hope they treat the upgrade.

It is most definite that they will upgrade. As they really have no choice, once the current version is unsupported the forum could end up on the receiving end of allsorts of exploits.

So just upgrade and keep it simple and minimal. s'il vous plaît

Why's everyone moaning about sigs? I turned all avatars and sigs off when I first joined. If others have them and want to see them, fine. It doesn't affect me.

I'm happy so long as ocuk stays as it is. Clean and simple.

I don't get why OcUK are so inclined to hold back such simple things that makes life easier?

Images - you have a rule for max size, most forums use java scripts for the browser to resize such things...

It's the little things that go a long way.

New features aside, the forums should really be upgraded for security reasons alone. Security flaws are found in software all the time (especially something as big as VBulletin). If we stick on an older version of vBulletin, the forums are more vulnerable to attacks as no patches are going to be made. Stuff like data loss or leaking of personal information is more likely to occur as a result. Depending on how the backend works for both the forum and the shop, flaws could be found in the forum code that could open the actual shop site to hackers as well. Can't imagine that it's really worth the risk to be honest especially for a big shop like Overclockers!

I like the aesthetics and layout of this forum how it is, although I'm not sure whether that's just down to the skin being used. If the software was updated, it would be nice if the forum remained aesthetically the same.
