Move onto 5 I say........but I will still keep coming back here regardless of what OCUK do.

One thing that would be nice would be if OCUK decided to use an ENGLISH spell checker on the forum.......I am not changing the correct spelling of a word to one that has been messed up by the colonials over the pond. American English.......wrong. There is just English [rant over]

Enable the spellchecker in firefox, and install the British English dictionary?

Or even in Google Chrome. I couldn't manage without the spell checker and we ought not to rely on websites to do it.

As long as we don't have to resign back up again I'm not too bothered.

As I only use .outlook/gmail email accounts, and with the rules I and many others would struggle to sign up.

The only thing I would like updating came up in the huge thread a couple months back. That is to just update the icons under the avatar from AIM, Yahoo, MSN etc, to Facbook/twitter/whateverothersocialnetwork.

No real need or rush to change, wait until 5 comes out and see how that goes for 6 months or so and when the main bugs are ironed out upgrade it.

Update and lock down the software to the point it stays as similar to what we have as possible.

Those who keep crying about there being limited avatars, no mobile support, etc. go away! majority rules.

Jumping from 3.x to 5.x would be more than most people around here could mentally cope with it would seem.

It embarrassing how locked down this forum loves to be considering the options now available. Lacking even basic decent features that are easily implemented in the newer versions but then its to be expected on here. We still have a 20kb sig limit in 2012 with people having 100mb broadband sigh.

Doesnt really wash with mobile speeds usually around 1-5mb for most people with smartphones and as put by OCuK anyway they are not in the slightest bit interested in catering for mobile users

The sig rules I kinda agree with as it does keep the place tidy looking.

Should the forum be upgraded what new features would actually be implemented/useful. It seems quite functional as it is and I can't think of anything (bad strikethrough) that is lacking.

All very well, but whilst the Avatars are based on the house rules for the forum mobile support can be added and not disrupt those who don't want it. There's no need for 'majority rule' to stop those who want an extra feature having it.

Anyway, an upgrade of forum software is likely to be needed to keep it locked down once support is lost as Invision abandon this version.
