OcUK H²Flo Liquid CPU Cooler - IN STOCK NOW! (now with benchmarks)

The 2000 rpm one and plug it into a fan controller (or your motherboard) to regulate the voltage.

Regarding thermal pastes, MX4 and IC Diamond are the most popular around here afaik. Both are great and easy to apply.

AS5 is fine too, it just needs some time to set in.

Yeah I wasn't too sure as apparently the fan has to plug into the cooler unit itself (that goes onto the CPU if that makes sense?)

If not then I'll just plug the 2000rpm fan into the CPU header on the motherboard.

Can someone at OCUK confirm that I can do this? Plug the fan into the mobo directly instead of the cooler unit?

EDIT: Just looked at the photos, it has a cable that looks like it'll go into the CPU fan header on the motherboard, so the fan can go into an other fan header on the motherboard?

Now I maybe asking a silly question but.......

I have an Apache Black in my case........I am assuming I just mount the radiator of this cooler with this fan, i.e I do not need a new fan.

Do I just connect the cooler to the CPU fan socket on the motherboard?

If I needed too and added a second fan in push/pull......how where would I connect this?

Cheers

CORRECT

CORRECT

On the rad, between the case and the radiator. As the first fan should be mounted the on the open side of the radiator when screwed to the case.

Cheers

Ace Modder, does the fan plug into the cooler then, then the cooler into motherboard?

EDIT: Bit annoying I only ordered it last night and it hasn't been picked yet, and yet it's in the Today's deals section for £36.98 inc VAT!

Ace,

Please repeat your test with two fans in push pull! I'm sure most of us would go for two fans instead of the one?

the difference between single fan and push pull on radiators is negligible.

all it does is add extra noise.

a good single fan with decent static pressure is all that is required.

Not bad temps for the price. Any more £££ and I do not think its worth it though. Getting similar results with an Akasa Venom with silent fans on an i7. Less max temp though, the wrong side of 70 for my liking.

will this be able to cope with a i2500@5ghz-5.3ghz(I've not tried but the guy I bought the CPU is a extreme overclocker and has had it 5.3ghz on water-cooling)? I wouldn't be using it 5ghz+ 99% of the time(4.6/4.8ghz dependent on temps and voltage needed), but good for running benchmarks(I'm not an avid benchmarker but fun to do when bored) and to be able to push it up when the mood takes(or in CPU intensive games).

I have a few spare fans laying about, could try those before buying new ones if those aren't upto the task. They're fast rpm and rather loud at full speed, would have to play around with them to get sound/temps balance.

how do the temps compare to a gelid tranquillo and Titan fenrir Evo?

5.3 is custom loop territory. Don't even consider it without some hefty wc kit. This sealed kit is pretty much the same as a high end air cooler.

thanks I thought as much, will this do 5ghz or is that still pushing it too far?
what's the difference between this and the h80/100 in terms of perfomance?

does it come assembled or do we need to attach the block to the rad etc? I've used a swiftech kit that you had to fit the tubing and fill the rad/res.

for 5.3ghz what sort of wc kit are you taking about? I have a xspc edgev2(sk775 mount but the asrock extreme7 allows sk775 coolers to be used, not sure if there is 1155/1156 mounting kit for the block), thermochill 240 rad(old one with non standard fan spacing), an xspc rs360 rad, Laing dcc ultra pump(18w) and res top, will need some new tubing. not going to fit in the lain li a05, will need to get out the cosmos s or buy a new case. will be water-cooling the 2x 6950s at some point but prob do a separate loop for it.
