wouldn't it of been nice to get an email from customer service with regards to my order saying that the items are delayed or an update on delivery times... just means customers are not left thinking the worst.
 
Is the gaming world that thirsty for the 1080 or is Nvidia so dry of silicon?

Feels like a very weak hard launch from what's been seen so far.
 
either Nvidia Marketing worked, but their factories were not ready
or maybe its the GDDR5X memory that's holding things up?
 
Actually I was a long time lurker here, but I've been buying stuff from OCUK since the very start (1999) and can remember driving to a tiny little warehouse.
The pricing, customer service, returns systems etc are all now top class. The only reason i buy ANY components elsewhere is if OCUK doesn't stock them. That applies to parts I buy for business customers too.
Just wanted to say so, you guys do a cracking job!

until EVGA actually ship, the ETA is exactly that, an estimate. We can't be more certain. We've got a couple of hundred pre-orders for that particular model.
 
Wavered and ordered the EVGA Founder Edition from OCUK today. To impatient to wait for custom models to come into stock :P

Decided to let my boys have this card when the EVGA Hybrid comes along. The amount of money I have spent on EVGA cards lol.
 
According to Reddit, the delay was caused by manufacturing issues regarding the heat sink not properly seated.

Why cant ASUS Just clear up why there was a delay? It would make everyone less worried.
 
It's just that the 5th heatpipe isnt touched by the GPU but it still works completely fine.

der8auer tested the card out and you can see it hit 2ghz boost clock under load and taking a guestimate with my trusty eyecrometer, it looks like it was maybe around the 70c-75c mark? Also looks like the fan speed was around 50%, just under. I'd be pretty happy with that if that's the norm and not a binned/golden sample/whatever.

If they're really trying to fix the problem. Imagine how much money they actually lost in doing that.

And now that I think about it, I wouldnt really care if it doesnt create a big problem.

EDIT: Admin/Moderator, If by Friday there is stock please let us know on this forum. It would help me maybe others too greatly.
