** OcUK HAS 21 CUSTOM GTX 1080 MODELS READY FOR PRE-ORDER !! **

could FTW and SC preorders switch to the G1 for £620?

Yes. We are only doing this for customers who have had an Asus Strix on pre-order, but we also do not mind doing it on EVGA as well, but we will only match the price you pre-ordered your relevent card at.

At £619.99 on G1 is essentially our cost on it using a rate of 1.30, so were just trying to sort the customer out who have being waiting.

We have around 40pc G1 left right now!
We have 150-300pc more due by end of next week! :)

So to repeat, pre-orders for Asus strix will be changed over at the price you paid, so if you paid £619, the G1 will be £619, if you paid £659 then the price will be £659, NOT £619, THIS IS NOT OPEN FOR NEGOTIATION, don't like it, then simply wait or cancel your order. Were trying to help but at same time were also not a charity. :)

Appreciate the update.
Torn between waiting for my Strix pre-order
Changing to the G1 for same price or
Changing to the Zotac and paying the extra money.

Thoughts!?

G1 has a great cooler that will do the job, might boost close to 2GHz, ask for owners feedback as we have shipped a few hundred G1's now I think. :)

Zotac is my personal favourite and I personally would pay more to own it, better cooler, RGB, better power phase and 5yr warranty.

I am being think are these the prices inc vat or excl as I only paid £482.49 + vat

We never sold Asus Strix OC at that price. Our launch price was £619.99 inc. VAT, which is £516.66 exc. VAT and this was an error by Asus as the correct launch price was £659.99 inc. vat and is why the price went up a few days after launch.

Saw the word 'Aero' and got excited. Then read it properly. Why are MSI more interested in shipping 1070 Aero than 1080?

I got 10pc Aero OC 1080 landing with OcUK tomorrow/Friday, give our sales a call and ask them to change your regular Aero to the OC for same price as we shall have 9 units spare.

Same goes for anyone else who ordered 1080 Aero, call sales, they will swap you to OC version for no extra charge and you should have your Aero by Monday latest. :)

First off hi to everyone, I've been reading this forum like a newspaper for the past couple of weeks.

What would be the odds of CS letting me change my Strix OC order to a standard Strix or the Gaming Strix?

Change to standard Strix, more likely to arrive first, just call them and they will sort for you no issues. :)

Nah tried that, they are only offering the G1 at the same price :(

Yes only G1, I thought you mean you just wanted to change your order to another card which you can do but the price would be website price.

On G1 we will match the price of the card you previously ordered, if it was an Asus Strix OC.

22nd here, hoping it won't be too much longe....

...oh.

Will you do something similar for Inno3d buyers? I'd pay an extra £20 to switch from an x3 to an x4, just not the extra £120 that's been tacked on due to sterling issues since I put my order in.

If I could I would, but we are losing money on those pre-orders at original prices buddy. Best we could do would be the X4 at current X3 price if that helps. If so email / webnote sales this link saying I will do you an X4 at CURRENT X3 price.

A competitor has strix cards in stock (though not the oc variation), might need to crack the whip with asus to get the thumb out.

But we also had stock for the last few days, we've now sold them all.
I cannot help the fact it takes competitors longer to shift a smaller quantity of stock.

Some of us are great, others are just average. ;)

Nah you're OK chief, that's still an extra £100 for functionally the same card, getting a 1080 was pushing my budget to the limit as-was. I'll just wait, thanks anyway.

Hold buddy, as we will honour all backorders at prices paid. :)

Hi there

OK this makes me happy, we've just had a further 2 palits of Zotac 1080 AMP and Extremes land, we now got tonnes of them. :D

Aye aye, I'm not worried about that I know you guys are reliable, it's just I'm sitting here with a 7970-based rig that blackscreens if I try push it out of idle power draw for gaming. TW:WH is just sitting there in my Steam list taunting me :p

Try manually clocking its memory down by 500MHz. If that fails knock 200MHz of the core and undervolt it slightly.

Sounds like power/VRM is failing on it.

Is the G1 stock likely to last until tomorrow?

More of those just arrived also, the issue is hundreds of Strix orders, so it really depends on how many people are switching.

I'd be calling at 9am personally. If you miss out next large of Gigabyte which is a few hundred is landing next week, so worse case you have one more week or so off waiting.

Unfortunately with Asus we struggle to even get a shipment manifest from them or a schedule, they are not as easy to get information from. :(

Whereas with MSI and Gigabyte I talk to the MD/CEO's at HQ level, so I can get such information and also much larger stock quantities. This is not because Asus like OcUK less, we've being receiving the lion share of stock, the issue they have had so little and I cannot talk to someone at HQ level, I talk to a guy, who talks to another guy, who then talks to another guy and well you get the idea.

I am sure Asus will come good, but they are simply taking longer.

Hey Gibbo,

I made a ticket about this but perhaps you could comment. Is there anyway if I used finance to order an OC Strix I could switch to the G1? Perhaps if we could sign some sort of disclaimer or waiver? Really really don't want to have to deal with Hitachi again.

Cheers

Sorry as I do not work in sales I really have no idea how the finance system works, sorry I cannot be of more help.

Gibbo,

The GIGABYTE GEFORCE GTX 1080 XTREME WATERFORCE is due this week?

If yes ill defichange my strix preorder and pay more to get it

3pc today, but still backorders. We have now only like 3 more backorders and we get around 3-8 units per week.

So if you change your order now, in theory you will have a Waterforce card at somepoint this month, sorry I cannot give a more accurate ETA, but if your high in the queue for the Strix OC I really have no idea when volume will ship, the last communication from Asus on bigger volumes was a couple of weeks ago and they simply said end of July which was very vague.

They then said on Twitter 1000pc of Strix, but what they meant was 1000 units in total on Strix including 1070, and they did indeed ship 100's of 1070 version of Strix, we had close to 300 of those alone and we literally sold the last ones today. :)

Hi Gibbo,

Don't suppose you would offer free delivery to France on a Zotac FE GTX 1080 or EVGA GTX 1080 "Reference Design"? Have been a very loyal customer, even through my 10 years here in France.

If it cost us same as UK shipping we would offer free EU shipping, but unfortunately it cost us a lot more and our margins are pretty tight as it is.

Nothing more we can do sorry.
